I would venture to say that while a fair amount of people hype their own teams, most of these predictions are legit, runners looking at who they have run against in the past and saying who they feel will be the top teams next fall.
How does everyone feel about individuals, with yuot done, along with many others, who do you think will rise to the top in november, and will he be there with his team?
so what does everyone feel the break down for the regions this year will be?

Wiszowaty or Bradley will give Zerzan a good fight. All three have to be pissed from Garrahan's stellar performance, did she deserve to win all three? Maybe, maybe not. Out of all her wins I think she should have won the steeple but either way Zerzan will have a battle to look forward to

Calvin returns 5 of 7
La Crosse has a rough last year, but their top runner is young and good.
Oshkosh got a transfer from Iowa State, plus willy kaul
Cortland They return all but their number 4
TCNJ Return their 1-6 guys
Second that on Oshkosh. Willy and the D1 transfer will each run the course twice, finishing 1-2 the first time around and 34-35 the second, passing 220 runners in the final km. Four AA's between the two of them, plus some random guy in 20th... O-unit is set for a resurgence!!!
I regards to Garrahan's victories fueling Wizo or Zeran and saying that she should only have won the steeple is a load of crap. She raced her butt off and did what no one thought was possible - she PR's by a minute in the 10k to win - with Wizo taking the race to her and falling short, then she hammered an OLY TRIAL time on the steeple to win again, and then was the only one willing to go with Zeran when the racing got hot in the 5k and was able to stay close enough to be able to kick at the end for the win. If you look at the rankings coming in, you will see that she set season bests in all three and raced hard so to question that she deserved to win shows a great deal of ignorance. By doing the triple, she did what everyone else thought was crazy adn impossible and made it a reality. If that provides extra incentive for others in cross country or not, who knows - it is a completely different thing. I may be worng but I do not think that she made a big impact at XC Nationals last fall?
they were probably referring to the fact that in every race she just sat behind the leader and kicked them down and did no work what so ever... smart when trying that crazy triple, yes.. but i can understand why others wouldnt respect her for that

I think it's stupid to say that if you sit on somebody's shoulder you're not doing any work. You're doing just as much damn work as the person in front of you. For some people even, it's less taxing (emotional, mentally, whatever) to set the pace. Bullshit she didn't do any work. I was probably one of her biggest doubters, but Shauneen ran like a BEAST at nationals. It's always good to see people set the bar a little higher.
everyone knows in distance running its a lot easier to just sit behind someone and kick them down rather than breaking the wind for everyone.. why do you think people "draft" off of others when its windy, etc

I just don't think it's fair to say that Shauneen's triple was easy because "all she did" was sit and kick.
She won 3 races, right? Ok so thats what she went to do, and she did it. Sitting and kicking, is not a bullshit way to race, it is the smart way to race. You go to nationals for one reason, to win, and if you get a PR in the process even better. Nationals races are almost always sit and kick just look at the D1 indoor mile from 2006, it was won in like 4.12. If you are the one that takes the lead and does the work for everyone else, good for you but if you can run away from everyone but continue to do the work, you are just a bad racer and deserve to lose.

Jon Phillips and James Mccarthy will both be back for NYU in the fall, as each have a season of XC left and are choosing to use it, one would think in hopes of capturing a national title. I think Phillips actually has all three seasons of eligibility left but is only using the fall.
