Rupp is a public figure, therefore open to scrutiny.

It became "anyone's business" when it was put in a news article. Are you really that stupid? What's your motive here, why do you want the discussion to stop?
Based on the large amount of talent at Oregon and the fact that Galen enrolled for the 2nd semester, I find it impossible to believe that Galen has a "full" scholarship. A partial scholarship is far more likely.
uhhh...???If any runner in America has a full scholarship to run it's Rupp. He broke 40 year old high school records in the 3k and 5k.He didn't just run 27:33 out of nowhere, in fact he ran faster 5K than almost all d1 runners before he set foot on OU campus.

Is this anyone's business? Leave it alone. This individual, as well as his family, is none of your business. "Letsrun" is a disgrace for allowing this type of BS on their "message board." What care is it to you? Wejo, are you seaking plubicity for your site by using this? Email back...
If it's no ones business they shouldn't have made it public idiot. It's wasn't letsrun who plastered their private life on the front page. Get real moron!
Simpler solution: don't have kids. Duh. Nothing personal but doesn't that make more sense?
Why is Salazar's relationship with doping and Nike Athletics West, as well as his listing as both a Balco and SNAC (balco's new company under Conte's daughter producing top sales of Scientific Nutrition for Advanced Conditioning)not involved in this discussion? Further Alberto is or was currently or in the past on 3 different drugs for personality and emotional problems! Lastly, Salazar pays with his personal credit card when Rupp is out of the country, ask Nike for the bill and you will have no success, but documentation on Rupp being paid right now by Nike is out there. He is the biggest NCAA violator to ever run in the NCAA Cross Country meet, including foreign athletes, yet if you are an FOP (Friend of Phil Knight), no problem and USADA will not even mess with you, ask Al Sal! Let it go, this will never be resolved fairly for Rupp's competitors.
Good for you for taking on the challenges and succeeding on your own. I was out on my own at 17 also and have done fine the last 13 years. As for the remarks on the front page about 'real poverty' in Kenya, whose fault is that? When are all the bleeding heart out of touch with reality folks going to realize that 85% of being poor has to do with people's cultures and innate behaviors? Or are only certain people required to be resposible for themselves? Rupp's parents are in a minor bind that they can certainly take care of if they think about it, and Kenya AND its citizens would be in far better shape if the overall culture (top to bottom, especially the government) weren't self centered, present oriented, totally selfish. Though generally unmentioned, there are concrete reasons certain people and cultures do better than others, and it is usually no one else's fault when the low achieving cultures fail.

these are points
1) Either go pro or stfu
2) Salazar is a doper
3) Nike is evil
4) Rupp doesn't really go to school
5) Gay-lin is homo name
6) Salazar shouldn't have said that in the article
7) No one in Rupp's situation should claim impoverishness
bump
Have Professor Garcia-Molina and Randy Miyazaki fund Galen's training. I spotted them taking pictures as media photographers at Sunday's Cardinal Invitational. Both are blisteringly rich, GM from Oracle, and RM from cable modems.
Yeah right. Stanford weenies funding an Oregon putz. That'll be the day.
