Blah, typo, didn't even notice that haha. Sorry, I meant more of a cross team than a track team.

How bout Potosi Highschool's XC team in 2006. Behind the 2 Josh's they have 3 or 4 more guys that run sub 16:30 for 5k including 2 sophmores with PR's below 16 min.

How do you get an average of 15:20 when the #2 man was 15:20? I get 15:31 for an average, 15:26 median
It's also probably not one of the best in the last 2 decades, since that goes up against all the great Mead WA and Mountain View UT and York IL and Thousand Oaks CA teams, among others (Kingwood TX had 3 incredible runners a couple of years in a row)
But it was certainly a good team.

Last year's Potosi team was great, I got to witness them run at NTN. Definitely one of the best teams last year.

nicely packed team, and a very close state finish! I feel like I should know right off the top of my head where/who this was, but I'm pulling a blank! ;) what state is this from?

Lincoln OR finished the same distance behind Central Catholic and Jesuit, but the times don't match up..
Coach Green use to talk about that team a lot, and how dedicated they were to being great. I think it was the 1986 team. That's the same team that set the national 4 x 1600m record in the FIRST MEET of the season off of no speedwork!!!!
That team is compared to the 2003 team that I mentioned, though it's the opinion of most (including Coach Green) that the team of Henry, Barnes, Green, and Cramer was better than the 2003 team.
Both teams were amazing in their own right. The Woodlands has sent more guys to the Footlocker Nationals than any other team in the country, that speaks for itself.
A few other teams that were really good (like this Woodlands team of '86 and '03) were the York team in the late 90's and the Mead team in the early 80's.
This is a really cool picture. The best 3 high school coaches in the country (pat is college now) and some of the best coaches period.

L to R: Dan Green (The Woodlands), Pat Tyson (Mead), Joe Newton (York)...WOW!

Sorry, have to make the slight correction. Mead's best teams were in the early 90's, not early 80's. Tyson didn't take over until 86ish? and the team probably most celebrated was the '93 team with Matt and Micah Davis leading the way.
That said, those three teams along with Mountain View UT of the 90s, Thousand Oaks CA of the early 90's, and Jesuit CA for forever, have really put together some GREAT teams these past couple decades. Go back into the 70's, and there were a few other GREAT teams: Lompoc CA, South Eugene OR, St. Anthony's NY, etc.

what is the one thing most of the snotty high schoolers on this board think about possibly as much as running?
oh hell, what is the one thing nearly every guy on this board thinks about, even if married?

unfortunately I was the 16:08 and this was a guys team. We never won anything!
15:10 for Pa. state three-mile course, 9:34 and 4:27 on the track, all by the same guy. Had no cross country team so he ran by himself
We were stacked, we had a lot of guys in our top 7...

My bad! I meant to say Mead's early 90's team not early 80's. Like you said, Mead, York, The Woodlands, Mt. View, and Jesuit have produced some amazing high school teams. I know The Woodlands has sent the most guys to FL Nats, but hasn't Jesuit CA had the most guys go sub 9 mins with like 12 or something? Anyone know the stat on that?
