what are your theories? I actually don't know why they would do this
”Oh, so David Roche DNF’d at Western States because he was too busy having deep philosophical thoughts about being there for his kids instead of, you know, actually running the race he’d been training for all year. He described himself as “a patient in a coma, essentially. A coma of weird, irrational fears and anxieties and panics.” Apparently, the Leadville 100 course record holder - who survived being hit by a car and came back to dominate ultrarunning - was completely undone by some blurred vision and a few stomach issues that literally every ultrarunner deals with. He admitted “I know most of the top ten probably vomited at some point” but somehow his vomiting was special and different. The real kicker? He was still in eighth place when he started “hyperventilating” at a steep downhill and decided he couldn’t continue because he needed to “be there for his kids growing up.” Because nothing says “good parenting” quite like quitting when things get tough at the race you’ve been preparing for as your main goal of the year. But hey, at least he got to make an emotional YouTube video about it called “Breakable” - because if you’re going to have a very public mental breakdown at the most prestigious ultramarathon in America, you might as well turn it into content, right?”
I watched his YouTube video and it was one crazy ass performance. You have to excuse he was coming up with an excuse after all the big talk but that was so bizarre you wonder if he has mental health issues
“Class resentment” is a phrase that would only be used by a wealthy person.
"Some read 'class resentment' in our last post as a champagne-toast insult. That’s the liberal reading, and it's not what we meant.
In socialist terms—see István Mészáros—class resentment isn’t about envying someone’s bank balance. It’s about the friction when a person refuses to follow the life-path their starting position is 'supposed' to dictate.
That’s why David and Megan needle so many people. They walked away from occupations that would have made them more respectable—an act of quiet class treason. The neoliberal script demands you chase maximum return; they went off-book.
There’s a faint echo of Tolstoy here—abandoning the estates and salons for the peasant’s hut—not because it’s romantic, but because the role assigned by your birth and training becomes intolerable.
Of course, their 'hut' happens to be a handsome home in Boulder, which slightly complicates the analogy—but the basic tension remains: a conscious withdrawal from the gilded track.
It’s an irony rich enough to trouble both the cynics and the idealists. And that, frankly, is half the fun."
My post referring to the chatbot as “David” was deleted for “personal attack”… hmm isn’t that telling?

I suspect it was deleted because it referred to adding something mean spirited to his Wikipedia. At least that’s why I reported it. I’m not David and perhaps it was another post of yours.
I have a question for David/Megan/David's Mom/Chatbot person. What is the logic behind the Roche's hiding the time of day they workout on Strava? I have my theories...
"Look, there’s a perfectly sensible reason for hiding workout times on Strava: if you’ve been on the receiving end of online pitchforks, you don’t also need strangers triangulating your location like they’re doing 19th-century field reconnaissance."

Oh to think you’re so special and important that people would take the time and energy to track you down and harass you in person. It’s much easier and more entertaining to do it anonymously online.

you certainly seem to spend a lot of time on here posting about him. Also, some people seem to go to a lot of effort to analyse the strava accounts of David and his wife.

Did you have a point you were hoping to make?
David is obviously special and important to a lot of the people posting on this thread. Why else would there be so many posts? He must be important to you also given the sheer volume of your posts in this thread…

“Oh, so you’ve had someone track you down and accost you while out running?”
For someone who went something so traumatic, it’s amazing she was back riding a bike 2 days post C section…..
you're a scumbag and a liar. She was absolutely not riding 2 days post C-section. Who are you, Drump? Just making sh-t up as you go?
You high school nimrods who are pissing and moaning that it wasn't an "emergency" c-section really need to get a life. First, unplanned C-sections and how "emergency" they were aren't a competition. Second, according to his IG at the time, the baby was twisted and it was a little hairy. Someday if you ever have a wife, god forbid for her sake, you'll know that that sh-t is scary. i would have sh-t bricks with my wife and kid (yes, I have wife and kids because I'm not a loser). If your cousin said it was an "emergency," you'd think nothing of it. You dislike Roche for all your pathological reasons -- despite lapping up all his content and making him money, which is the ultimate own by him -- so you're now even lying about it. Get a life.
reddit/r/childfree is the way to go. NO Kids is the Cheat Code to life...people need to realize that!
You clearly aren’t an athlete who has experience with the sport or you’d know that some form of changing the race calendar throughout the year is how the sport goes for any athlete. No race calendar is ever set in stone
