So much could have been saved by fortifying Ukraine in advance with conventional weapons. Putin would not have invaded a well-equipped Ukraine. 20/20 hindsight, of course, I don't think anyone anticipated the patriotism of Zelensky and the Ukrainian people. To be clear, when you say you "don't give a flying F about Ukraine," you are saying a LOT more -- you are saying you don't give a flying F about a sovereign nation being invaded and terrorized by a murderous, bully nation that is an enemy of your country and routinely threatens your country with nuclear weapons. That is what you are saying, so it's easy to see how you could be regarded as a pro-Russian advocate. Which you know you are.
The whole money/tax dollars argument, that you pretend you strongly hold, has superficial appeal, although you can reduce almost anything to a money argument. You types, however, use the money/tax dollars argument as a cover because you don't like more being accurately accused of being appeasers. It's bogus in that respect, because history has shown that appeasement of thugish aggressors has even more costs. If NATO spends nothing and Russia successfully invades and occupies Ukraine (which we now have doubts as to whether they ever could), what next? Won't America (YOUR country) have to eventually address this scumbag country Russia as it moves forward? It will. Russia is an enemy of YOUR country and an enemy of freedom and democracy, and it needs to and will be stopped.
