It is hilarious that Andy Persson has popped up on fb defending Mimi. Did he ever admit that his strong defence of Rob Young was totally misguided? I recall Coach Kev had the decency to apologise and admit he was wrong but I don't think I saw it from Andy.

There's no issue taking those stops when you're cruising along at 8 mph! You'll make up the time without a problem. Just remember to smooth it out before you upload to Strava.

I see that Andy and Gary on URC are not taking me seriously that I could spoof a transcon run on Strava even though somebody else did spoof a 1:59 world record London Marathon in my mile world record thread.... Seriously, Andy & Gary, are you challenging me to spoof heart rate and cadence? That is so easy to do.

You obviously weren't paying enough attention! I did hold my hands up and admit I had been duped on that one and it was covered extensively on the thread, although it was on about the 1000th page so you're forgiven for having fallen asleep by then. I did always say with Rob that it would come down to whether he could produce the data as he said he was going to and I was holding judgement until then. As it was he couldn't produce it. He didn't provide doctored data as far as I am aware. I saw it and there were just big unexplainable holes in it, well probably easily explainable in hindsight. I like to think I have learnt from that episode and have developed a layer of cynicism. I recently challenged the case of The Faith Runner in India who supposedly did 100x100km (was that covered on LR?) His Strava data had cadence which had a regular pattern of dropping to zero for long periods during the runs. I challenged that, had no reasonable explanation given and it seems the Strava has now been deleted.

I don't know Mimi but have been following her journey on Strava which is posted twice daily. It shows cadence for every run which to me looks legit. I posted the 3:19 mile to the URC forum as suggested but noted that it shows neither cadence nor heartrate, so don't understand how that is meant to show anything. Like someone pointed out that could have just been done on a bike (or in an RV I guess).

I am happy to take you seriously. I am just saying what you produced wouldn't be accepted because it lacked those elements. It may well be easy to produce one with cadence and heartrate - I have no idea how you do it so no idea how easy it is. I guess it would be more significant if you could, say, spoof the next 30 miles Mimi was going to do in the time she has between completing the morning run and posting it. I'm not saying you couldn't do it, just that that would add more weight to your argument than producing something I could have done with my phone and a bike.

Thanks Andy! Is cadence the blue line on the graph at the bottom where it lists the various miles per hour?

It is too bad we don't have heart rate data but I imagine that would be even easier to spoof than cadence.

Seriously, Andy? Spoofing cadence and heart rate is easy to do and I plan on spoofing that for my world record run across America. And the Scam Master 2000 in my mile world record thread posted his spoofed GPS file with cadence and heart rate for a 1:59 world record London Marathon. So you see, Strava data is not very trustworthy without other supporting evidence or witnesses.

And as I've shown in the Amy Hughes thread, I do have the computer skills. So I can definitely pull off a transcon Strava spoof and have cadence and heart rate if I want.

Scam_Watcheroo, I agree your next experiment should include cadence. I didn't realize that was missing from the 3:30 mile. Evidently it looks as though one of the UK runners didn't like your example. It has now been flagged as suspicious!

Challenge accepted. The Scam Master 2000 already has his spoofing tools created with GPS, cadence, and heart rate but I will need a little bit of time to create my own scripts.

There was hr data provided in the early days. It looked highly suspicious as I recall.

Cadence data is easy to overlay and no-one attempting to fake data would overlook that since it was cited as the damning evidence in the report on Rob Young.

This why lots of evidence is needed, to tie it all in to prove it's a real run.

All data can be tampered with, but if you have a live tracker and two watches with HR and cadence you lessen the chances of it being a scam.

Now they say the tracker has nothing to do with the attempt and doesn't matter! That it's only there to show the public where she is. But having the public witness her is important too, and NO-ONE has run with her so far, likely due to missing live tracking.

So sorry Mimi defenders, the live tracker IS important.

Kiernan seems pretty clueless about tech. Has already said he doesn't use Strava and seems unaware HR and cadence can be altered too.

Gary Kiernan - So the crux of the issue is the tracker has been turned off or has been out of signal when it should have been in signal? Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the tracker just so people could find Mimi to run with her and wasn't supposed to be part of the record evidence. I seem to recall with the RY fiasco he was outed largely because he didn't or wouldn't provide cadence data. So surely it's that which would prove someone had actually run the distance rather than say cycled or rode in an RV?

Haha yeah! And all this talk of 'I'm going to break the transcon world record' Think we've heard that before too. Like I said, I didn't say it couldn't be done but it's just words until it is actually done.
