GO PLATTSBURGH!!!!!
GO PLATTSBURGH!!!!!
Oneonta does indeed suck. They wouldn't let cars leave between the men's and women's races. Good thing I wasn't stupid enough to pay $5 to park on Young's road. Heck I was probably parked closer than a lot of people that paid $5.
Also during the race I saw the guys who made last years regionals race video (the one with the ridiculous accent) making one for this year, so we have that to look forward to.
Very surprised to see Cortland in 5th. They should still get an at-large bid though, you'd think... ranked 9th nationally. But they've run so few races this year, and they say at-large bids are based mostly on regional champ. performance. Who knows.
Looks like it'll make the difference between 1 or 2 Vassar women making nats though... I'm still on the edge of my seat.
When are at-large bids announced?
the twins from buff state, if you're referring to "ridiculous" accent
Looks like all of those tempo races worked out really well for Ithaca.
Congrats to Geneseo, SLU, NYU, Rochester who will all make nats. 4 teams in this year most likely. Also great job by TCNJ to grab 5th, I'm surprised by that. Impressive race by SLU, if their 5th guy was closer they would have won for sure. That 4-5 gap will kill them if it happens at nationals, but it hasn't really happened that much this season so maybe it was just a 1-day thing.
fantastic job by oneonta to put on a top flight event.
course, organization and execution were perfect.
xc done well.
cool venue, great announcing, really alot of fun.
berbe and pavlus looked really good.
kosgei had some rocks, berube had patience, heyman is tough.
pavlus just crushed then cruised.
great job oneonta.

What tempo races? Ithaca was one of the few teams NOT doing that this year, they did workouts when they didn't want to race. Still, they didn't run too well...
They were killed by their pack falling apart, with 5-6-7 all way back off the 26:20-30 range they'd been running at. Probably blew their load a little too early in the season.
Word on the street, they didn't run their normal #2. Still though...
"what happened to the Cortland women?"
Steve Patrick
They peaked for SUNYACS. Same story, different year.

So are you saying Geneseo sucks at developing good talent? Or that Avery has just received crazy good coaching? I think everyone already knows the Geneseo part, no need to beat a dead horse.
We are saying that "subliminal" knows squat about running and Geneseo's well developed good talent ruled the day (3 in the top 6 with Berube winning in 24:20 something). Maybe start in on NYU's coach whose good talent stunk it up or Cortland's women's coach whose good talent also stunk it up. As far as Avery goes, congrats to him for a good race.
Geneseo/SLU for 2/3 at nats, could go either way between the two.
UR!
Cortland women are missing Erin Keaveny (their #2) between SUNYACs and Regionals. Probably hurt. Still ran a little below average.
Regardless of whether she is hurt or they sat her or she missed bus, the #9 team in the country should not come in 5th at regionals.

Check out mid-atlantic guys results.... #2 Allegheny was 5th in the region. Tough.
How many girls teams will go? Probably 5? It would be tough to not take Cortland.

Geneseo put 6 in front Cortland's 2nd today (normally 3rd) after Cortland put 4 in front of Geneseo's 3rd at SUNYAC's. They were way off their game today. They should still get a nationals birth though.
Congratulations to the NYU women, especially their second runner (this time), Zelinsky (sp?). That was a huge step-up for her.
Congrats also to the UR men, who finished higher in this meet than in their eight-team conference meet. Win or lose, they have *competed*--great to see a storied program back at Nationals.
Moving up fast: Vassar men and women. Congrats to the Brewers!
And a very nice job by the TCNJ men. It's not impossible that they'll move on... Solid race at exactly the right time.
Considering all the teams in front of Cortland are ranked, it would be very difficult to not take the #9 team.

lol, get it?
