i guess im jaded but I don't really see Kara as an innocent part of the entire NOP situation. She had a few great years and then it ended about the time she left. my gut says maybe she tried it, and when it didn't end in a boston victory or a gold medal she felt the risk wasn't worth it.

Exactly. It feels more like a soap opera at this point. I feel like zero allegations of doping are true. What seems more likely is that he used supplements and got word from USADA/WADA before doing so, but people are just upset at how the NOP went about doing things. USADA/WADA are investigating all allegations, as they should, but Alberto has always stated he would use any and all means necessary to gain an edge and it looks like he has. Other don't like it and view it as shady and he doesn't. He also seems to rub people the wrong way. So although 17 ( or 30 people) seem high, given his longevity in the sport lets say since 2000 he has pissed about 2 people off each year so much that they are coming forward with things they didn't like or had to think 2x about. I am sure they weren't all aware whether he sought guidance from WADA/USADA, so they brought it to them and we are now finding out he had.

People saying Galen comes off as guilty must be watching something else. He comes off as gracious and tired of all of this. What can he really do?

If anything happens, a more transparent sport hopefully results and people feel like WADA/USADA will investigate suspicions. But on the flip side, once they are investigated there needs to be resolution. If they find nothing, then I also agree, STFU unless you have hard evidence. At this point Kara does come off as trying to play the martyr and get some PR time instead of getting via running fast. Galen and other NOP members are under pressure and scrutiny and won races. She didn't.

I find it hard to believe 'people have been threatened'. It is more likely that peoples emotions are running high and are pissed on both sides. Lets not turn this into some MS/HS level drama (although it seems like it already is).

I'm kind of surprised more people aren't focusing on the lack of EPO use accusations. If Salazar is the massive cheater that some of you think he is would he really not use the most effective (and nearly undetectable) method?

At this point it seems extremely unlikely that the allegations against Salazar are true. Mud has been thrown, but what has stuck? Some extremely spurious claims which even if true would not constitute doping.

Those who have brought allegations forward have been embedded within the Salazar camp for years but not one of them have levelled a specific charge other than that a 16 year old Rupp.

If doping did occur within Salazar's charges it would be rife. Those bringing claims forward would be able to point to specific incidences where they were either offered performance enhancing drugs or saw other takes them.

This makes more sense than anything else I have read on the topic. 100% in agreement, this is the entire story in a nutshell.

I 100 percent believe Kara's telling the truth. I think it's absolute BS that people say she's doing all this to stay relevant or be in the spotlight. Yeah, I'm sure she's LOVING being threatened & having this hell at the forefront of her life. I think she's doing what she's doing for a clear conscious & for her son. Assuming he pursues track, she wants (or at least a better chance at) a clean sport for her son.

I, too, am very interested in what Kara says caused the conflict between AlSal & Adam. For some reason I could see it being something crazy like AlSal was in love with her & probably even came on to her, but who knows, maybe I'm way off & it's drug or running related. Will be interesting.

I've been to many of her press conferences over the years and I've never once witnessed any writers "harassing" Kara or even asking any tough questions (except "what happened" after a loss? or what it was like to come back from pregnancy.) I can't even fathom what they would have been "harrassing" her about.

Likely Salazar had wayward fingers when applying lotion, something he decided he only he can do like he does with Rupp, and he wanted work the same magic with the women.

What I come away with is that your claim of being at Kara's press conferences since 2011 is extremely odd. It is simply not a believable claim.

this is not a legal situation as exists in the UK, Brit. you PR-folks suffer from a grave misunderstanding about how athletics cheaters are brought down to the floor across the pond.

Goucher and Oiselle - what else do they have to get any attention?

What real harm can come from attacking evil Al and Nike, said Sally to Kara. We'll just bank on "Mamma Goucher's aw shucks wholesome goodness" and there have been lots of allegations (even if no real evidence).
