Nicole Michmerhuizen's 10K - Lap Short?

"Hater's gonna hate" is an idiom made popular through the internet. The Kitchen Nightmare people obviously weren't well versed in internet trolldom. Thus, your critique/observation makes no sense. It was timed at 34:09 indeed. It is a legitimate time. I actually thought it might be short (we weren't paying that close attention to laps because there were so many lapped runners), but they were screaming so loud for her. Also her coach 3-time Olympian in the steeplechase (hardest event in track and field) and 1984 bronze medalist Brian Diemer was there drinking a coke clapping for her on a majority of the laps so if they were a lap short surely HE would have the insight. Haha, he loves pop.

What exactly is so valid about a bunch of internet posts claiming to be people at the meet, most of whom who didn't even count the laps for hell's sakes. Nothing in this thread is valid except for the times that have actually been recorded for the season.

Hi, I'm the runner in question. I don't appreciate how you all have been running my name through the mud. I worked really hard to race my hardest. Why is it so hard to believe I could PR by 1:30? Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty?

It was a "PR" by 2:12.

That it was a lap short is no longer up for debate against the mountain of evidence before and after the race - the real question is whether it was an intentional ploy or just an honest mistake. I'm willing to bet that "you" didn't mean for it to be a lap short, but if this is really you then maybe you are in on it.

Correct. It was 25 laps and everyone there saw it. Many of us even hit our watches for every single split. It is sad that so many of you pathetic losers can't just say CONGRATS and move on.

Dude's a beast but always underperforms. Takes it out HARD every race but has no kick...always left in the dirt when the real running starts.

Here are my 400m splits from the 10k

Mile 1: 81.20, 83.59, 85.91, 83.11

Mile 2: 83.22, 83.47, 84.10, 84.01

Mile 3: 83.89, 82.91, 83.12, 82.52

Mile 4: 82.44, 82.12, 82.14, 81.5

MIle 5: 81.32, 81.17, 81.78, 81.07

Mile 6: 81. 55, 80.34, 80.12, 80.17

*'84 Bronze Medal Olympian didn't catch my last lap because he was too excited. I asked around, but none of the spectators clocked my final lap either. Everyone was just too excited, cheering so rambunctiously. It was just a magical night.

Norman Maclean (probably a coach) needs to get a life and leave Nicole alone. How insulting. Her VDOT for the 10K puts her at a potential 16:30 for the 5K. Who knows how she ran the 16:55 5k. Perhaps it was just to qualify for the NCAA, windy, tired from a hard training week, etc. Without the facts, you should keep your thoughts to yourself.
