1:22 would make you just a little slower than a 32 year old mom in my town. If you're a guy, it's not GOOD, it's "trained somewhat properly". Yes, most people are terrible at running. That doesn't mean you're good if you aren't terrible.

Whatever, different meaning of good then.

You are an idiot. "OK" is not a good description for a 1:22 half. World class, no. Elite, no. Semi pro, no. But certainly considered GOOD. Typical letsrun though.
Also, not that it matters but I ran sub 4 in college and 14min for 5k so, I actually do have perspective on this. What sort of perspective do you have?
Not sub 4, but sub 14 5k, 29 min. 10k roads. also did the tri thing for a few years in early 40's, just an age group type by then, but won a regional masters title, always top three overall.
Great, good for you. I'd consider on the grand scale a sub 14 min 5k to be great. You should be proud.
Haha, and the snipey bitch fest begins.

In all honesty it should not be considered great. The world record is under 12:40, that is a long ways from sub 14, it is pretty good. But, that is it, let's be honest. I ran low 48 min. for 10 miles and back 30 years ago that was pretty good, still not great, but pretty good.
All relative though... But I do hear what you are saying though.
When you look at a road race of 2,500 and the winner is 15:30. Is that guy "great" in the sense of the entire world? No of course not. But, in the sense of that race, yeah "he's a great runner" would be a fair comment.
Guys stay ontopic. On the great scheme of things if you look at guys who run 13 min 5k, 14min 5k or 15min 5k, they all barely classify as "male". They are typically scrawny and muscle depleted, no definition at best and skinny fat at worst. They are very one-dimensional. There is a reason the world greatest athletes like Eaton or Froning are not the best 5k runners, too. That said, Froning is just an overall allround monster.

I am sorry I can't take you seriously. Participating in a sport where it's ok to beat up the ref, use ladders and chairs to defeat your opponent, where you wear funny costumes and you need to make up some ridiculous stage name doesn't really help your case here.
Fact is, Crossfit athletes like Froning are a lot fitter than any runner and also fitter than Hulk Hogan.
No it is not the fake junk you see on tv. It is the stuff you see in the olympics. I would love to see Froning come to one of my girls practice. I bet he could not finish it as fast as my slowest girl. You keep telling us we can't do his workouts and he is a paid fitness person. My girls are High School athletes and he can't do what they do. I have watched Xfit games and laugh when the run with horrible form. You keep saying that we get faster by running less. Sure that is what all the olympic distance runners do. You are talking to distance runners and all you do is build the hatred we have towards your people.

Oh you mean the one where the "athletes" dress up in bathing suits?
The guys who are real athletes and could destroy Froning on the mat or in the gym. Olympic wrestlers are fitter than any xfitter and look better in bathing suits. This shows your ignorance about real sports that use their fitness.
I love how you did not take up for your ManCrush not being able to keep with my HS girls team for one practice.
How does keeping up with a high school girls distance team in running have any relevancy to the topic of fitness across a broad spectrum? Could any of your girls row 2,000 meters in under 6:15? Froning can. What about a 300lb snatch?
For what its worth Froning can probably run about 19 minutes for 5k. So he may be ahead of most of your girls.

If you're calling a guy who can run a 13 minute 5k "skinny fat", the word has no meaning whatsoever. These are mostly guys from rural East Africa, most of whom could outwork any crossfitter when it comes to manual labor. You think a guy who grew up on a farm is skinny fat?

What do you think about Money Mayweather motherf*cker?
I agree on the skinny fat thing... That's not true. But this is getting ridiculous. You mean to tell me that a 115 lb kenyan can do more manual labor than a 200lb dude who works out for 5-7 hours a day?

What cross fitter works out 5-7 hours a day?
All of the top guys. Their job is crossfit.
The top crossfitters are very good athletes...worthy of respect...but these endless comparisons are ridiculous.
Here's a really good film of Mikko Salo...#2 in the world in the Crossfit Open. I think just about any serious athlete would find it interesting and at least entertaining.
Mikko is one of the few Crossfit competitors who runs a good bit (by Xfit standards). He ignores much of the Crossfit dogma regarding limiting aerobic work. He's actually a half-way decent runner for a guy with his size and strength...like 17mins for 5K.
Anyway...despite the fact that I find so much of Crossfit just stupid...I really like this guy.

Well ladee freeaking doo. Crossfit is a company with earnings. They are employees to a business. If anyone is doing cross fit and not getting paid to do so they should reconsider their existence.
If you try tell me cross fit is a unique way of thinking or a new thing, it is not.
People have been flipping tires since man invented the wheel.
Circuit training slapped with some logos and a campaign is all cross fit is when you take away the business side.
