And no, I don't care what your 5k PR is, how many miles/wk you run, how long it's been since you've got laid, etc. Also, how much of your work follows you home once you've left the office?

Work at a really old machine shop that is the best job from an opportunity standpoint but the worst job from a motivational / teamwork standpoint. I could run this place in my sleep but management is slowly letting us die. Want to do something else with my life but none of the things I've come up with involve an income...

Never work from home either. The long schedule and living in darkness with no energy to run during the week in the winter is rough though. Although three day weekends and a true 40 hr work week are great and, from what it looks like, rare.
Like some said before I went straight from undergrad with a year of internship experience to industry and am officially jaded 15 months into it. Researching the company first and perhapes agreeing to a year long internship (any company can pretend to value you and hide it's problems for 6 months) before hire is solid advice.

The key takeaway from this thread is that LetsRunners work A LOT. Pretty amazing, I would have never guessed it.
I wish I didn't have to put in 50hrs a week. I like the motto 'live simply'. However, my wife and I have our 1st child on the way. Don't think now would be a good time to do something different. Maybe in 25 years...ugh, depressing.
