Rupp looks the most in control.

People bitch about U of O, but there sure as hell would be a shitload more people cheering this effort on in Eugene. This is pitiful.

yeah..he should employ the tactic ritz and hall employed in the marathon in beijing...that wors a lot better...layback and wait for the leaders to come back....western p**sy style...
1) that was a marathon. this is a 10k.
2) I doubt they would have done much better, anyway. hall was not in top shape, and ritz has yet to break 2:10.
there's a difference between being a pussy and not being an idiot.

I heard Fam got pissed for having to do all the pacework for Solinsky a few weeks ago. I wouldn't be surprised if Forrest and Chelanga will eventually be pissed at Rupp for consistently refusing to lead despite being in the lead pack.
Rupp hasn't ever won an NCAA track title. Rupp shouldn't take the lead until 300 meters to go. Why should he? The idea is to win the race.
Running a 5K 40 seconds slower than you're capable doesn't take TOO much out of you.

Josh Cox !0,000meter is on! http://bit.ly/SQywl Spoke w/ Sam, @skiche, he said he and Shawn Forrest were gonna take it out in 13:45.
Agree about the the crowd. Rupp looks like he is just doing time.

They can't complain since they made a concerted and unified effort to get away from him. It didn't work.
14:00 at 5k...roughly the same as Rupp's heat yesterday...
chelenga will keep his collegiate record
14:00 @5k Rupp and Chelanga look fine. Forrest is as red as a tomato and is gritting already
About 28:10 pace through 5600m.
6K: 16:57
well they messed that up. rupp is going to destroy these guys
Clearly Chelanga and Forrest cut a deal to trade laps and try and break Rupp, I wonder when the deal is off (meaning no more sharing laps)?
Rupp looks fairly smooth.
Puskedra in 5th, holding up well.
(The announcer is embarassing the way he is yelling now...yick).
whatever...i don't care if chelanga dies...do you honestly think chelanga's chances would be better with a slow early pace...how would you have him run the race...rupp's been dropping sub 1:50 for 800s in the last few weeks....
good for sammy....heart of a champion....
Damn the tomato is in the lead and is pushing the pace. Sam 2nd rupp 3rd
