Well if we are including alum, Quigley is the 4th seed in the 5k.
Pat Springs qualified for the long jump, but she is not on the starting sheets.

freeknowledge,
I\'d just like to point out that you are incorrect. \"They had nobody else under 15:40, 32:00, 4:00 or 9:30. How does that make a good cross team?\"
So no one under 4:00 in the 1500 meter?...how about two freshman? yeah. There are two freshman for Temple that ran 3:57 and 3:59. How does this make you a good XC analyst? Get your facts straight before you go trying to make a theory that flat out sucks.
bump what has been a semi entertaining thread.

Little off topic but just want to highlight a must read for all you A-10 aficionados.
"The Streak: Paul VI High School Boy's Cross Country Team 240 Consecutive Wins 1980 - 2006." Features SJU's very own MIchael Glavin who was the coach for quite a number of these teams.
That is one of the crappiest books I have ever read in my entire life. I know and run with several of the Paul VI guys from the past couple of years and from what I hear a bunch of them aren't too happy with the way this guy snubs the coaches and athletes that 'ended' the streak. He takes way too much credit for himself, and really gives a one-handed, biased account of not only his own experience, but the experience of the earlier coaches that began the streak, who certainly were not universally loved and respected.
The streak, as any half-way intelligent person will tell you, survived only because Paul VI main competition comes from Gloucester County Institute of Technology, which rarely fields a team. Little Sisters of the Blind is their next biggest competitor. Honestly, the streak itself was a joke. Not that Paul VI didn't have some solid runners over the years, and some solid teams - they absolutely did. But private high schools in New Jersey should not be weighed equally (see Christian Brothers Academy - recruits middle-schoolers state-wide). I can think of quite a few teams before Paul VI that you could write a book about.
So I must say that it most certainly is not a must-read for any A10 aficionado. If you want a New Jersey high school-A10 connection, write something about Matt Jelley, numerous state titles at Toms River, and bringing Temple from the cellar to the (mark my words) top of the A10.

Are you serious? I mean I guess I'm sorry for not scrolling down to the slow heat to catch all of Temple's results. Thanks for the correction, allow me to edit: "And Temple's depth is so bad that they are on the message boards bragging about 3:57 1500 meter runners!"

Blah blah blah blah. Did any of those other coaches beat Sydney F'ing Maree? Didn't think so.

What the ---- are you talking about? What other coaches? What does that have to do with anything?
"To state the obvie" went on a rant about how the streak wasn't that big of a deal, there are quite a few other teams (who have coaches) that you could write a book about, and that Jelly is more deserving of a write up.
I merely pointed out one obvious fact demolishing his rant. What other Jersey coach besides Michael "Mike" Glavin beat SYDNEY F***ING MAREE. So until they do, no book and no anti-streak rant. Yeah that's whats up.
You think I'm joking? I'm not joking. Mike Glavin beat Sydney F'ing Maree. Its a weird thing to hear, right? Lemme tell ya, its a weird thing to say. Mike Glavin beat Sydney F'ing Maree.
Anybody who tells you that easy opponents are the roots of all streaks, hasn't f***ing won one. They say easy opponents can't buy happiness. Look at the f***ing smile on his face! Ear to ear baby! You want details, fine. 240 consecutive wins. What's up? He had a ridiculous number of Jersey state championships. He has every honor you could possibly imagine. And best of all, he's coach of the century.
A word or two about the Paul VI streak. Fans give it shit for the "weak competition." f*** them! f*** 'em! Parents don't like the the training or coaching done to achieve said streak? f*** you Mom and Dad.
HA HA HA HA I LOVE IT!!!
Of course parents don't like the coaching done to achieve the streak. That's because there was no coaching, just like in college. There is only a bitter, selfish, impatient old man who cares for nothing but himself and his own selfish glory and who refuses to do anything for any of his runners if it ever inconveniences him even in the slightest bit. NO, it's NOT okay, countless talent has slipped through his fingers, he only draws the talent because he's a good bullshitter, anyone worth anything can see after a few weeks in his presence that he doesn't give a shit about you unless you are helping him out, if you're struggling you must be doing it on purpose to hurt him. He is a spiteful, wicked thing that should have never pursued a career involving young adults. I'd take an unknowledgable coach over a coward any day. At least the unknolwedgable man is a man, and may care about fostering a team, rather than pitting athletes against one another by talking shit behind their backs like a COWARD.
By the way, he beat sydney %$#$@######### maree when maree was a freshman and he was a senior. 18 vs. 22. just thought i'd get that out there.
Yeah? Is that so? 18 vs 22? well you know what, who said size doesn't make might doesn't make right bitches. Yah he beat him, f***ing taught sydney f***ing maree, that skinny 18 yr old freshman punk. Taught f***ing sydney f***ing maree to not run easy on his home turf, belmont plateau. taught sydney f***ing maree to not run easy on belmont and try to coast through the finish line. he showed him whats up by running hard every step of the way right through the line. sydney f***ing maree can take his 18 years and throw it right down parachute.
and bee tee dubya, M. Glavin was a young 22 years old.
Dude, Adu in 10th? Come on. He will win easily and his team will roll on the flat SL course. I predict they have 5 in the top 12 overall this season. Their freshmen will show just how good they are.
Not seeing it. Dayton has two NCAA qualifiers returning and Anderson so no one beats them this season. If you knew where they are training and how much they are training u'd see. No one will out work them, no one.
Ha ha. Pa-leeze. 100 mile weeks are the norm for our team and we do them on singles so get outa here with that crap.
Exactly proves it lazy boy. You only run 1 time per day. The Dayton boys are hitting 125 to 140 per week and living in Colorado this summer running 2-3 times per day. Boo hoo to you. Go cry your blues. No one out works Dayton.
Id say 100 mpw in singles is just as much quality, if not more, than 125 mpw in doubles and triples. Your body gets to recovery that way. But I guess when you dont have a track team it is a lot easier to get up to that high milage, you have all year to build a base.
