LOST is the best show on TV

Does anyone else think Locke has been the smoke monster the whole time, since season one when he saw the smoke monster on the hunting trip?

He wasn't aware of it, but the evil was slowly taking him over. His curiosity about the island was merely the smoke monster trying to get at Jacob...

It's a theory.

No This is way off. The big variables right now are Christian Shepherd and Desmond Hume because they were on the flight in episode 1 of this season and by the time the flight ended they were gone, presumably to the island.

They are giving a lot of clues this season, so it is really hard to guess what will happen. Its all speculation really and thats a good thing because it makes it more exciting.

I only say this because I'm watching it from the first season again, and there is certainly something suspicious about Locke during the entire thing, as much as everyone else trusts him. Whether it was planned from the beginning or they just played off of O'Quinn's performance, I don't know, but he has always carried a sort of ambiguity that could give the essence of an antagonist.

I agree Desmond and Christian will play a part, but Locke is obviously a larger character. They will be answers to some of the time and revitalization questions, but not the overall theme of the show. That is up to Locke, Jack, Kate, Ben and Sawyer.

Locke is the key.

Here's a question, remember the girl Hurley was in love with?

How is it that she was in the same mental hospital as him? did they ever explain that one? then she just died, wtf?

But he truly did not know certain things about the island until after he returned from his death. He was different from everyone else from the island because he is special and was actually recruited by Richard Alpert from a young age to be their leader, it didn't come to be in his early years, but that changed once he arrived to the island and knew he belong. And lets be honest why would he want to go home, he had a tough life in the real world.

So, who's the little boy? is a higher power or even creator of the island?

Walt's character was basically written out after the actor playing Walt had a HUGE growth spurt.

I thought it was a new manifestation of Jacob. Since his old body died, he was reborn (somehow) and is still growing. I wouldn't be surprised if unLocke sees this person again, but this time as a teenager.

Then again, Sawyer seeing the kid kinda threw me off too.

I figured Sawyer was able to see the kid because he's a "candidate"...

Yeah, but that was mentioned later how he and the others from the plane were 'candidates'. I stopped thinking about the kid once they got to the ladder in that episode.

So, which Kwon is the candidate then? Or are they both candidates?

I think that's "Aaron", which by the way, is a biblical name, like Jacob.

Remember they made a big deal of his "specialness" in early seasons, before he was born.

yeah someone was distracting me in that part of the episode. I know there Jack, Sawyer,Hurley, Locke, at least one of the Kwon's If only one Kwon who is the sixth, there must be six candidates. And why does Jacob need to find a new protector, until he is murdered it seems like the guy can live forever.

What is interesting is that Kate is not one of the candidates. I think that will definitely play a role with Sawyer trying to protect her later in the season.

I assume that everyone noticed that all the "candidates" from the plane that were written in the cave have a name that starts with the letter "J" -- just like Jacob:

I guess Jacob didn't think of Sawyer as Sawyer.

Also, if you did use this J theory, all of the candidates are male.

Jarrah is his last name though? And when did Jacob visit him prior to him coming to the island? I didn't realize he was a candidate he doesn't seem like alikely one. And we know that Jacob did meet Kate when she was a little girl. Why isn't she a candidate. Are women out of the question?
