"People are so quick to jump to the idea of divorce these days...just look at this message board. No wonder the divorce rate is 52%. If you love your wife, you should be willing to swallow your pride and assure her that you are faithful to her and are sick over this problem. Get another ring that wont irritate your skin. The thing that everyone needs to realize is that we are human beings and we ALL make mistakes. If your wife is truly having an affair, then that's another issue. If she apologizes and wants to make it work, then there's a lot of healing that needs to take place. It's not impossible to save a marriage with infidelity, just VERY hard and takes a lot of commitment."
Maybe you missed the part where I said that "if she apologizes and wants to make it work."
The whole purpose of a marriage is there are 2 people involved. If a spouse is unwilling to make an effort to change then of course it's a lost cause. I don't condone extra-marital affairs, but it's not like it is impossible to overcome cheating in a marriage IF the cheating spouse makes a commitment to stop. But like I said, it takes 2 WILLING PEOPLE. According to this guy, he doesn't want his marriage to end, even though others are telling him to empty out his account and run!
Marriage is perfect. People aren't perfect and they screw things up. I'm not sure why this seems like a foreign concept to you. I am also sorry that you have some poor examples of marriage surrounding you with your friends and family. I can see why you may be jaded and cynical when it comes to marriage.
