The thread was awesome for a few days, then it pretty much stalled. Nobody ruined a thriving thread.

Yes, I'm still clinging to my 4:33. My one brief moment of glory! It's all I can think about. If I close my eyes and concentrate hard enough it's as if I'm reliving the moment. The warm, humid night air. The sensation of the track flying by beneath my feet. The roar of the crowd as they cheer my 10th place finish. It was epic! In fact, I think I'll give an inspirational talk at Letsrun Camp. It will be a truly moving experience for the campers.

Oh, I've also humored my share of pigs, ma'am, and as a lineup of my exes would make plain, poked my share of crazy ladies.
Pretty much anything with ladies is more fun than with pigs. Well, except for difficult breakups.

Given the way I've been stalked here on LR and via the phone lines, I'm wondering if he'll ever get over being dumped. Carrying around that kind of hate all your life will do a number on the psyche.

in the interest of re-hijacking this thread...
Have the meet or race in a place that lacks quality competition, or during a period in which it is not occurring. Right after Nationals, for example, so all the 'almost made it but not quite' guys could attend. Put it in or near a major city so transport to the area would be easy.
Check around for sponsors or donors. I don't know about how expensive it is to rent a track or close off a road and get timing equipment and officials but I feel like if attended / the field filled, it would turn a profit.
And the brojos name would be enshrined in legend. The name of letsrun would be pasted across many a website and it would drive mad ad revenue! Maybe even hold a special 1500 for eddylee.
There certainly could be some sort of gathering - summer camp or not! leading up to, or following, this grand endeavor.
