Where DON'T you tip

Where do you get the idea that bartenders don't get paid? They make a wage, not just tips. They often make minimum wage or more. From now on, I will pay them for their work. It takes less than one minute to get my beer, open it, and hand it to me. I should tip him maybe 25 cents for that work.

Tipping is ridiculous! If you don't like how much you make at your current job then get a better one. I don't understand why servers think they "deserve" a tip.

I tip pretty much everywhere. Restaurants, 20% at least and up to 100% at one seafood place where I really love the staff. Starbucks, a dollar an order. Pizza, usually a couple dollars. If a waiter is rude/someone isn't doing their job well, they get 15% at the bare minimum. If I see an empty tip jar or a slow day at a restaurant, I tip more. I figure, what's a couple dollars to me? It's much more likely to be helpful for a bartender/waiter/whatever than for me. It also helps that I have friends who wait. I know how much importance is placed on gratuities.

My only issue is that sometimes waiters will treat me as if they KNOW they won't be getting a good tip. (I probably don't 'look' like a big tipper.) In those cases, I'm quite conflicted. Do I tip heavily to surprise them? Or do I continue the pattern that made them cynical like that? Regardless, I'm strongly against tipping before a service is performed- it ruins all the fun and punishes staff who would have done a good job anyway.

When I worked for minimum wage, I

wasn't lucky enough to have a job

These people are taxed on the tips

they make. When you stiff 'em,

you cost them money.

Waitressing is the number one

occupation for female non-college

graduates in this country. It's

the one jab basically any woman

can get, and make a living on.

The reason is because of tips.

my fault. it would appear that

waitresses are just one of the

vote for it. But what I won't do

is play ball. And this non-

college bullshit you're telling

me, I got two words for that:

"Learn to f***in type." Cause if

you're expecting me to help out

with the rent, you're in for a big

f***in surprise.
