Now we can home that OSU will trample Florida, Michigan will kill USC, and Wisco will beat Arkansas, thus cementing the Big Ten as the best conference in football.
At least everyone here can agree that Notre Dame is over rated and doesn't deserve a BCS bowl bid!

This is true, except for the minor detail that the CHAMPIONSHIP game is about the #1 and #2 teams playing, regardless of the conference. Personally, I would like to see OSU kill Florida (can't believe I actually said that), USC win in a squeaker over Michigan, and Arkansas up-end Wisconsin. Nebraska-Auburn should be interesting as well. And, yes, I do think Notre Dame is overrated, but we will have to wait and see if LSU covers the spread against them, like Michigan and USC did.
The title game is not only about giving teams a "shot" - it's about rewarding the top two teams in the country for a great season. That's why it's a complete crock to vote UF #2 if you really believe UM is #2.
And apparently many voters did exactly that - because they ranked UM ahead of UF all the way until it meant sending UM to the title game.

Why is that? UF just played a conference championship game against a top 10 opponent. It sounds pretty feasible that that additional win would be enough to make up the ground and then some. I absolutely HATE Florida, but they deserve to be there. I personally think the fact that UM made it so close against OSU is more a reflection of how NOT great OSU is (pardon the poor grammar)...this game will be closer than a lot of people think. If Urban Meyer could somehow call a decent offensive game for once, they have a very real shot to take the Buckeyes. The one thing that is obvious this year is that there really is not stud team out there...everyone is beatable, including OSU. As an outside observer, the best thing Meyer could do for his team is scrap the option with Leak at QB, and go more north-south with their runs.

ok - then rank UM #6 or #7 after the OSU game - rank every team that you think should play in the national championship game instead of UM ahead of UM. If you think Boise State should play in the NC before UM, because UM already lost to OSU, than rank Boise State ahead of UM. You're using criteria for the top three teams that are completely different than the criteria used for the rest of the poll!
The problem with the logic that most of the voters used - and that seems to be on this board - is that if taken to the extreme it makes no sense. Let's say Florida lost and LSU lost another game - who is the next in line? Wisconsin. They didn't play OSU (therefore no rematch) - using your logic they would play OSU even though UM beat them!
The whole point of this rant is that it sucks for the players, coaches and the fans to know that most people think you are the second best team in the country and yet they won't send you to the game that is supposed to have the top 2 teams in the country.

This doesn't necessarily say that much about the Big Ten other than they have 3 good teams and a bunch of crappy teams. The only reason they have 3 teams ranked so highly right now is that they have run the table in a conference with no depth. OSU has a pretty good win against Texas, and Michigan has an ok win against an overrated Notre Dame. Outside of that the Big three have non-conference wins against Buffalo, Bowling Green (twice), Western Illinois, San Diego State, Vanderbilt, Central Michigan, Ball State, Cincinatti and Northern Illinois. Nobody else in the Conference has any quality wins, so big deal. Yay Big Ten!

Notre Dame last won a bowl game in 1994. They will continue their losing streak against LSU. Both Wisconsin and Auburn are hurt by the rule that each conference can only get 2 bids b/c those two teams are as deserving (and Auburn more so).
