Look, the reality is Salazar has a very shady past that has been demonstrated numerous times on this site and others. Just ask any hardcore runner of the early 80's that associated with him and they'll tell you what he was like, especially in the context of "I'll try anything." Because of this, people are going to be suspicious of any athelete that he coaches.

I don't have a freakin clue if Kara, Adam, or Galen have taken anything, but it sure as heck wouldn't surprise me if Al tried to push something on them.

When your coach has had a relationship with Victor Conte (on top of everything else) you damn well better expect people to be suspicious. That's the tough reality of thing.

if you search hard enough, anyone can be linked to someone shady. i had to share a hotel room with eddy h. at a race almost ten years ago, does that make me shady as well? the hansons continuously praise Khalid Khannouchi, doesn't that seem strange? etc etc etc.

I've known the Gouchers for 11-12 years and know them very well. I would bet my life savings on the fact that they are clean.

Sounds like the exact words people that were close to Landis were saying. You just NEVER know. My probelm with the Gouchers is that if they are so against drugs, why hook up with Alberto? That is not an indictment, but it never looks good when you hang out with someone with a suspicious past.

where is the progression? footlocker, then ncaa champ, then nothing for 5 years, then alberto, then faster than lynn jennings. not one time, title, or top 10 u.s. finish during that 5 years, that is NOT a normal progression. amy rudolph ran 1 second slower than goucher however made mutiple teams and ran mutiple fast times for 10 years leading to her 31:18. something is up!

I kick the shit out of Chicago runner all the time.. He runs an 19 minute 5K and cannot fathom a chick running 31 minutes and change for a 10K. So he lashes out and calls them dopers out of envy and spite.

Progression??

Kara ran 4:07.50 for a four second 1,500 meter PR at Prefontaine last May. She ran 15:08 for a 5000 PR last June. She has not been hurt in two years.

There is your progression homes.

I think that post was refering to a "normal" progression over the corse of a CAREER, not a few months. The fact that she ran 4:07 and 15:08 (two months ago) further supports the LACK of progression over the duration of her career. Most women don't run those times with out some inbetween times first (as noted with Amy Rudolph) and perhaps making a few world teams. Most women have "progressed" into a 31:17 type time, not done it out of the blue, which is WHY we are having this discussion in the first place. If there was not a "progression problem" this post would not have 93 hits- idiots!!!

what? people can't flatline for a few years??? you mean to tell me this has NEVER happened? did you start getting into track now or something? For example Paula flatlined in the 8:35-8:40 3k range (when she was specialized more on the track) from 1993-1998. That's 6 years! And then she pulled a ten second PR and started running 8:28, 8:27 and then 8:23...
