I certainly thought Keely would win the Stockholm DO 800m and apparently so did she but now I'm glad she didn't win. During her post run interview she was so dismissive of Aubrey Werro and only gave one positive note at the end.
Her negative statements:
1.) "I won't let that happen again".
Really Keel if someone runs faster than you're capable, how are you going to stop them❓
2.) "I let her go and figured Aubrey normally runs out of steam."
So she was never to learn from her past races and improve her performances.
I'm STILL NOT hating on Keely but I did dislike those two statements. I hope both of them improve on their personal best again this year.

A psychoanalytic nugget of self-understanding for you.
When someone says, defensively, 'I'm STILL NOT hating on Keely' -- in block capitals no less -- despite no-one having accused them, it means deep down they know they are.
I'm off to smoke a cigar.

GET A LIFE. I truly don't understand why some regular posters create fake usernames to write what they should be mature & brave enough to SAY with their regular usernames.
That's not how K came across in the interviews I've seen. Werro did run a 2 sec PB and Keely expected her to fall away like she had in the indoor WR attempt. More surprised than arrogant IMHO.
....
"I won't let that happen AGAIN". is very arrogant. Not likely but say their next race Aubrey runs 1:54.20 or faster which is faster than Keely's pb, how will she stop Aubrey?
Keely may have been in shock but her choice of words clearly indicated she doesn't think Aubrey should've beaten her today or will beat her AGAIN this year.
Oh dear. Well, for starters, if Keely could have known that Audrey was in sub-1mins 54sec shape she would not have taken the lead with 300m to go. BTW, Audrey has now lost the element of surprise for future encounters, and will have pressure of being favourite. We she handle all that well?
I don't put too much stock into what is said directly after the race. I've never been a fan of the on field interview. Still, I didn't hear anything offensive at all, any competitive athlete like Keely will be determined to come back better the next time. I liked the result, it's boring seeing the same athlete's win all the time and it makes for more exciting races.
Well she was 8-0 lifetime vs Werro until today. That lends to confidence.
However, only 2 of the prior races were Diamond League. That's partially why Keely underestimated what Aubrey was capable of in a paced race. Typically they have only faced each other in European and global championships.
Werro was exceptionally relaxed in that race. Typically she does a lot of exaggerated breathing. That was evident on the first lap but not at all down the stretch on lap two.
She ran the race of her life. Now the expectations rise sharply, beginning June 16 in Ostrava. It's actually not a bad development for Bol because now she won't be the big focus of that meet.
Bol will be the big focus anyway obviously. They didn't even announce Werro, only Bol
