The Harris loss seems like an epic beatdown today, but it won't take much for those middle voters to flip back to the Democrats if they don't like what the Republicans are selling. Wisconsin has been flipping back and forth with just 30k votes making the difference. Won't take much to flip that back if things go south.

Trump's personality and way of speaking have allowed him to connect with a disparate group of people, in ways others cant. There's zero chance a person like JD Vance could carry that mantle forward and win in 2028 if there's an economic downturn. Vance lacks the personality, and he just comes off awkward and fake. Trump is a generational talent when it comes to connecting with people.

It's amazing that anyone thinks trump will lower inflation without causing a recession. His deportation and tariff rhetoric is inflationary. He likes to pressure the Fed to lower rates so the stock market goes up. He also talks about letting the US default on its debt, which raises govt borrowing costs.
