You know what actually would be useful? If we could see the video taken from the wife’s phone as she was pointing at the ICE officer during her agitating and instigating. Which tells you a lot.

I feel terrible that somebody lost her life here. That is tragic. But this was not peaceable assembly, she was obstructing a Federal operation, the escalation was quick, and there’s just no way to predict the outcome at that point, the psychological factors, especially from an ICE officer who had previously survived a dragging and who is being demeaned and denigrated all day long for doing his job.

Easy to Monday morning QB this stuff, but I would personally hang any jury who might try to convict the ICE officer. He was being deliberately and brazenly impeded during an official Federal operation and he actually was grazed by the vehicle, even though I don’t think her intent was to hit him. Plus, he now has to live with the knowledge that he killed someone. There’s no good outcome here.

Please forgive me, as you were not talking to me. I found your point really thought-provoking and wanted to point out a few things...

Renee Good's wife was positioned behind the vehicle. It's unlikely that she captured any footage that can tell us anything about the ICE officer's motivation.

Also, the ICE officer was wearing a mask over the lower part of his face, which obscured his facial expression.

Lastly, I disagree that more evidence would enlighten us. The poster above you nailed it: we see what we want to see. Video, in and off itself, doesn't mean anything without context or a claim to disprove or support.

(And to be clear, we have several posts in this thread making arguments about demeanor and how it relates to intent. I believe the question here is "Did the officer reasonable fear for his life?" and, if the answer is "yes," then "Was deadly force justified?" You can use deadly force in situations where it is justified, but mistaken, or where alternative courses of action would have prevented tragic consequences.)

All valid points. Lefties are always deceiving or/and flat out wrong but never take accountability for it. They were all in the wrong intiially regarding their outrage for this story. And I'm a guy who doesn't like abusive authority to begin with, but in this particular situation, that cop did society a favor by eliminating that parasite. She was aiding horrific criminals, amongst them people who have committed sex crimes and murders towards children. Good (pun intended) riddance.

Yes. I’m sure you uniformly loathe lies and people who lie. Some “leftists” lie and some people who question what he did are neither leftists nor liars.

Here are women who antagonized him and acted at least mildly hostile (“big boy”), and he was angered by them. And in that escalated situation, he decided to plant his feet in front of the driver’s side of the vehicle, then draw his weapon rather continue walking in the direction he’d been walking. He did this while seeing her back up to angle the vehicle in a direction away from which he’d been walking, then watched her move her hands hand-over-hand on the steering wheel to turn the steering wheel hard in the direction away from the one in which he’d been walking, in the direction opposite the side of the car he was standing at.
