Jason Rexing was mentioned a few times related to this story and a quick google shows he's a letsrun meme, but I'm registered and have been around for awhile and I don't know the original context.
REXING 101
Winter of 2003, Rexing is a post-collegiate who's saddled up with the Stanford-based and ailing Nike Farm team. He's had a few quiet years, but is hooked into a crew of sub-4, sub-8, sub-14 types. He appears in the flesh for the 2003 Husky Invite at the relatively new UW Dempsey Indoor with it's 307m flat track. I'm a dyestat/letsrun-obsessed high schooler who's driven in for the race; I'm ecstatic.
In the ensuing years, the track becomes a hotbed for fast times, but in 2003, it attracts the available west coast talent from post-collegiate circles and the PAC-10. Dave Davis, (a Max King of that era) takes it out through one mile; Louchini takes over for the win with an even-paced Rexing dipping under 14:

We all ate it up and it became immediatly LRC Legend.
NOW YOU KNOW (your meme)
