It still very interesting to me that, despite the massive coverage and discussion of Epstein, the following non-partisan observation is brought up SO little: Epstein and Maxwell trafficked hundreds or thousands of people, but not enough evidence existed or exists to charge ONE other human being.

I’m not a lawyer or in law enforcement, but that sounds damn impossible.

Like, not too long ago, we found and prosecuted the top two drug kingpins in Latin America, but we couldn’t find a SINGLE guy dealing weed on the corner, OR ANYONE he was selling to.

Alex Acosta in Florida with Alan Dershowitz gave Epstein a slap on the wrist 5 month sentence and there was also a non-prosecuting agreement for the rapists. Trump gave Acosta a huge reward with a Presidential Cabinet spot in 1.0.

Totally agree. But the key phrase is "near term'. Tariffs are being paid and absorbed temporarily but supply chains are shifting behind the scenes. I don't think even the smartest economists can predict how this TACO behavior and Trump using Tariffs as a daily billy club for grievances to pressure countries for idiocy like Nobel Peace prizes is going to play out.

Right, but why were most or perhaps all of them unable to foresee the “paid and absorbed temporarily” part? Was that not a foreseeable way for things to play out in the short term ? (defined by either “mid/late Spring ‘25,” or the nearly year since the tariffs, now).
