Viruses like HIV and ebola got to where they are because some external force decided to set up high density population centers in places where they previously hadn't existed, which allowed for viruses to pass much more quickly from person to person and thus mutate in ways that hadn't been previously possible.

Great you just finished "Guns, Germs and Steel" but if any other region had grown to become the dominate world power there'd be a book on them: "Stars, Llamas and Stones - The rise of western South America" or "Spice, Trade and Sea - How the subcontinent of India used it central location and coast line to dominate the world".

That's right Jeff. It turns out that, for whatever complex reasons, (largely) white civilisation has become a consistently superior model for advancement. You can point to numerous fvcked up things that have happened, but we are at least trying to improve stuff now. Tough shit if that gives you white guilt. Of course it's due to luck and the environment. If I had magically switched every European with ever Australian aboriginal 30,000 years ago, Australia still would have been in the Stone Age in the 18th Century because that was as far as the environment could allow their technology to advance.
