Thanks Cheesegrater, you are completely right. They have an extremely long history of systematic doping and anyone that doesn't recognize that hasn't followed track and field for the past 15 years.
Look at the state of our sport and the suspension after suspension that occurs on a daily basis. Every athlete and performance is now put into question which is unfortunate but is reality.
radcliffe is closing on Alemu, nothing decided 45 min to go.
Cheesegrater, Have you been to China?
Have you met any of the top athletes there?
Have you trained in China?
I have.
Jason
Thanks to everyone for posting these. As a young coach stuck in his office preparing for preseason today, I was bummed that I was gonna have to miss this. Thanks for the updates!
Good for you but you cannot deny that drugs are a part of our sport REGARDLESS what country you are from and China happened to have wide usage of drugs at one point.
Just because you trained with Chinese athletes doesnt mean some dont use. I have trained with athletes before and found out later they doped and had NO Clue so give me a break.
Noguchi might have pushed it too much up hill. Paula will be fine and Deena ran smart.
come on..keep the updates coming...what's happening.?..thanks in advance
I think the Japanese runner went too soon.
Ndereba will lurk and kill @~22 miles. She did in Boston, where there where also terrible conditions...
30k-1:45 noguchi, alemu 23 secs back, radcliffe 8 secs behind alemu
You have to appreciate this race...despite the announcing. If you could pick a top-five to make the race "exciting"...we have four of the best up there. I do wish Kastor was lurking in 7th or 8th, but you can't have everything.
This is going to be a good run to the stadium...

condolences
30 seconds is nothing in 95 degree heat.
I bet Radcliffe still wins. Kastor 4th.
radcliffe passes alemu!, 30secs behind noguchi, yeah everythings is still possible.
Got my wish, Kastor is in 8th...although 2:11 back...can get to sixth, maybe fifth, but unlikely that all of those ahead of her will fall apart bad enough for a medal. She could make a good run though...Hoovis

absolutely...a great RACE, not a jog and kick
keep it coming posters, u guys r great!
This race is not over, with Radcliffe, Alemu, and Ndereba running together it's going to get interesting. Somebody will make a big move to go for it. And, it will be interesting, because the odd person out will be the one who doesn't medal.
It's now them vs. Japan.

I think Deena has a great shot, the ladies are pushing it too much.
