This thread isn't about "acadmics." Good try, though.
Actually 7 ahead (Missouri and Texas A&M are now SEC schools), 1 tied: U of O tied at 55 with U of South Carolina) and don't forget Vanderbilt, which wont show on that public university list, and trumps them all.

I've been waiting for an Oregon fan to bring up this argument. As I pointed out in a thread just before the season started, and as others have pointed out in the last few post, there are 7 or more SEC schools ranked better than Oregon. But good try! Can you imagine going in to a job interview....."I see here you attended a SEC school, I'm sorry but we only accept pac 12 degrees here." Hahaa, good try duck fan.
This is why I can't stand Oregon fans. ALL TALK!! And then the SEC teams just make you put your foot in your mouth, over and over and over and .......
The ducks are a great team. But they can't touch the sec powerhouses. At least they haven't yet. And until that day comes, keep talkin crap, you quacks!
All the SEC does is load up on pansies all year every year. Oregon has an offense the likes of which you've never seen. There is so much creativity, so much innovation, so much daring. We could hang 30 on an NFL team right now and I know we're hang 40-50 on you. Your slow assed SEC fatties on defense will be gassed by the Oregon track team in football gear before the end of the first half. It's going to get ugly for Bama if they have to play Oregon.

Going to get ugly for BAMA?!?! Just like it did for LSU and Auburn? Oh wait, that's right Oregon LOST those games! Your dog and pony show works on teams with no defense like USC. Oregon has tried their tricks and no huddle rush to snap offense and guess what, THEY LOST!
More Oregon fans talking crap, big surprise!
But need we all b reminded, Oregon is still ranked #3. Unless K State suffers a loss Oregon won't even play BAMA! Let's all hope K State does lose because if Oregon plays a different bowl game we will forever have to hear about how they would have destroyed BAMA blah blah blah. And that just ain't happenin!
Why don't you check out the world ranking of Texas A&M, University of Missouri, University of Florida, and Vanderbilt of the SEC. All elite universities and are AAU members.

Bama will be very lucky if they get to dodge Oregon. Any right-thinking football fan knows Oregon is vastly superior to bama and the SEC this year. No contest.
It all depends on if you just sit there reading stats and game summaries, or if you've actually seen Oregon play. They are not the same team from 10 or 11. Their defense is about the same, but their offense is twice as good. They execute perfectly. It wasn't fair for USC, they tried so hard to score a lot of points but scoring meant giving Oregon the ball so they'd have to score again.
Yeah, yeah, we know. It's not the same. Except it is the same until Oregon beats an elite SEC team. All talk and no production. If they do actually beat a top SEC team we will say that Oregon is great. I have no problem with that.
It hasn't happened yet, so keep your mouth shut until it does.
It's GOING to happen unless there is a media conspiracy to keep Oregon out of the BCS title game because the SEC is fearful of playing against the Ducks of Doom. Also, the SEC teams do not travel out of state for out of conference away games. It would be comical to watch the stiffs at Bama try to stay within 30 points of the Ducks at Autzen stadium.

SEC doesn't have anything like a Barkley to Lee/Woods & company passing attack. You will be surprised how well Oregon does against Alabama's offense if that match up happens. I still maintain that an Oregon/Alabama match up would be relatively low scoring like the Oregon/Auburn match up and Oregon's bigger challenge will be dealing with Bama's defense.
Also, AJ McCarron's emotions after their win tonight highlights what is wrong with the Deep South. Its a freakin' football game! McCarron was acting like a WW2 soldier on VE day who had been in the "sh%t" for 2 years.
I don't think it's right to question McCarron's crying after the game. It's not b/c it's the deep south. It's just some people after being in emotional high, they show by crying. It could happen to anyone outside of the deep south.

A Duck wrote:In that game two years ago...I think the long lay-off between games hurt Oregon, and the Ducks were too one note in their play calls. Last night the Ducks played both an NFL style offense and spread as they saw it. They are more flexible now. But it was a close game.
Hahahahahahaaaa. I seriously laughed at your post when I realized that you weren't kidding.
Oregon had a lot of talent on the team that year, a real solid team, but they weren't good enough to WIN, and that's all that matters.
Maybe the new fancy "mood setting" state of the art lighting the ducks have in their locker room will give them that extra needed benefit to become a national championship team this year?
It's very possible that K State will lose one of their reamaining games, but if they don't then Oregon won't even be in the title game. THEN after BAMA stomps k state all the Oregon fans will talk for the nxt 10 years about how they would have beat BAMA if they would of had the chance to play them. I hope BAMA gets to play Oregon so that they can stomp them in the ground just like Auburn and LSU did to them.
You laughed because you are an idiot, or a drunk or both.
Seriously, do you watch football at all, and look at the play calling?
Here, read this by an expert, assuming you have the attention span to read something this long and intelligent.
I'm just a fan, who stopped playing football when I started running in high school. BUT, I try to watch the games, while understanding the offenses, and paying attention to line play, blocking schemes, blocking technique, execution and the like.
Read this, I DARE you, and then stuff your stupid laughs and pointless comments back down your aholian throat.
I laughed at your post because you what you wrote is uselessly stupid.
I post a comment based on how the game actually went, and how the team is different now.
In fact, the USC game was a perfect example, Kelly and the OC varied their play calling much more than against Auburn.
Subsequently, numerous sports journalists have made the same analysis.
Read this and engage your brain.

That Arkansas St. offense must be pretty good to put up 34 on the mighty Ducks. Or maybe I'm thinking about the 530 total yards they had. Wait, maybe it was their two running backs that averaged 6.8 and 10.3 yards per carry. Those Red Wolves are an offensive powerhouse!
You didn't see the game did you?
It is so easy to see the SEC idiots like you who clearly did not watch the Ducks games to date this season.
They've had the second string in usually by mid way into the SECOND quarter -- and playing 3rd string defense most of the second half.
And the Ducks have actually had tons of injuries to key players this season -- they just happen to be deep. And have made it through.
http://www2.registerguard.com/cms/index.php/xs-and-os/comments/ducks-last-ones-standing-in-62-51-shootout-over-usc/College football isn't even interesting because some SEC team dominates every year. I say this as a Big 10 fan. Yes I can admit the big 10 sucks & is overrated.
On with the NFL.

You are SO stuck in the past. Maybe Oregon doesn't win. BUT, if you think that Chip Kelly and staff, and these athletes are the same as the last two squads -- you clearly have not been paying ATTENTION at ALL.
Mariota is better than Thomas. And wildly, Barner is better than LaMichael James. And we have a few other weapons up our sleeves.
Listen, one thing we know for sure, and can agree on, is that college football is fluid and things change over time. Things will swing at some point, and SEC's streak will be broken.
It could be by Oregon.
I am not saying Oregon has a perfect team.
They've had troubles this year with:
1. Center snaps and fumbles by the QB. (He has also made some amazing saves of bad snaps.)
2. Place kicking.
3. Special teams.
The defense, despite last Saturday, has been better year over last year. They have also had a lot of injuries, including against USC. So lots of question marks.
And I do think that the long lay offs between regular season, finals week, holidays and bowl games effects about 30% of the bowl teams.
Just my opinion, but I've watched a ton of bowl games in my life, and I pay attention to the better analysts out there...and with the internet...there is so much detail available.

A Duck, just chill. I told you UO would leap ND this week and they did, but ND is going to lose anyway. I suspect KSU is going to be challenged somewhere along the away. But you're already talking like it's a foregone conclusion that the Ducks are going to be in the BCS title game. It's not.
And this crap about a team like Oregon putting up 40-50 points on Alabama's defense? Seriously? As much as LSU gave that game away, it ain't going to happen.

I love the loyalty, but this kind of opinion doesn't help anything.
The games are ultimately decided on the field.
In 2010 my concern was that Darron Thomas was too inexperienced, and as some analysts said the long lay off before the championship game might hurt Oregon's offense...and it looked like it did. Sure, Auburn helped, but Oregon was not in perfect rhythm in that game.
On the other hand, the long lay off from games, might give this Oregon team more time to heal and prepare. Our center is erratic, our place kicker not solid, out DL constantly injured.
Anyway, these kinds of stupid fan contests will be over when the play off system hits in a few years.

This is the right kind of comment. Accurate. I think the defense is better, but they were both out manned Saturday, and Alliotti didn't plan that great of a game, Oregon's defensive coaches have got to get the players more consistent.
