USADA makes completely false statement about Lance and USPS

Nice, but poor, justification for cheating. Lance would not have been an icon without drugs. Enough with the "everyone was doing it." If you've read anything about cycling, you'll realize you're wrong (again). Bassons, for example. Regardless, it doesn't justify cheating and not everyone responds to drugs the same. You must be pro-cheating in all sports. We should re-instate Marion's gold medals - it was a level playing field. Same for Ben Johnson.

USADA oversees sports under the IOC charter. I think Americans care a great deal about the Olympics.

Nobody implied that the USADA oversaw MLB and NFL but they are getting a free pass with regards to doping. One baseball player was busted this year and everyone shocked. Nobody is shocked in cycling because it is always in the news. But the reality of it is that those 2 sports probably have a doping culture that makes the one in cycling look like child's play.

The USADA is a front for the drug corporations.

All they are doing with all their hypocrisy is promoting their drugs.

Whether or not someone took drugs doesn't matter. The drugs don't help anyone to be healthy or compete any better.

The USADA and other drug agencies keep promoting that message, but it can never be true. Look in any hospital and see all the people dying as a result of those drugs. They don't make anyone healthy, in fact the opposite is the case.

People are much better off not listening to them, and staying far away from them. They are hypocrites, and they base their business on hypocrisy.

and yeah in professional sports i'm fine if PEDs were okay as long they all acknowledged and signed off on stuff if they chose to take them. so years down the road you don't get into these lawsuits like the NFL is in now. professional sports if entertainment...i guess we should probably tell all actors and actresses that they can't get any "work" done. its basically the same thing.

americans care about The Olympics as a whole but the vast majority of the population doesn't give a rats ass about the individual sports during the 3.5 years between the games/trials and if you think otherwise you're kidding yourself.

Yes, I am quite aware that cycling has a huge PED problem, so does MLB, NFL, T&F, etc. Just because drug use is rampant in sports doesn't mean you ignore it. Hamilton has said he needs to apologize to the clean cyclists. In Matt White's recent admission, he apologized to all the clean riders. So enough with the "everyone is doing it" justification. Your 2nd paragraph is simply irrelevant at this time.

I realize reading comprehension must not be your thing, but the previous poster (change your moniker?) tried to diminish the role of USADA. I simply stated if the U.S. wants to compete in the Olympics (which is very important to the U.S.), it must have an anti-doping agency. USADA has a very small budget and pursuing Lance is what they are charged with doing. I'd say it's money well spent.

Why not go back into your hole and leave the discussion regarding Lance to those with a brain.

I've already shown my evidence for "everyone" was doing it and as I've said its not justification but fact. Look at all the podium people from the last 15 years who have been implicated and then also consider all people we've also found out about. So you can say enough already but I'm not going to ignore the facts like you'd like to.

I have plenty of monikers for stupid stuff like this and I'll diminish the role of USADA again because they've proven to be incompetent and a waste. What does it say about our testing if all these people dopped and very few were ever caught through testing?

They have stuff from years ago that they say is indicative of doping but they can't say anything definitively...

The Lance supporters continue to misstate facts. The people who provided testimony are not getting off scot free. They will have suspensions. Some of those suspensions will be reduced due to their cooperation, which is explicitly allowed in the code. Lance also had the chance to provide testimony but refused that opportunity.

By Congress and the passing of the Ted Stevens Amateur Sports Act. By the US being a signatory to the UNESCO International Convention against Doping in Sport.

What about all the others athletes? USADA catches and sanctions those who it catches. That is a long list over the years. Lance is not exempt from scrutiny.

Some of "this crap" is years old, some of it is very recent.

They have positive test results.

As you already found out, they didn't get off scott free. As I said, the WADA code allows for reduced sentences. They will get reduced sentences, and have their performances stripped. All this talk about "sweetheart deals" and "coerced testimony" from Lance's lawyers is in fact quite common in any kind of judicial proceding in all areas of law.It also looks like USADA's not done. When you read some of the affidavits, you see some names are redacted. USADA is still collecting more information against other riders and other team staff and support.Whatever the UCI's number one priority, doping in cycling is the UCI's failure first and foremost. They had the means, the mandate, and they had all the data. No one else was in a better position to commence a deeper investigation and targeted testing.
