This clearly just goes to show how out of touch Lolo is with society. How does she not know who Eric LaGrand is? The guy has more ESPYs than she'll ever have.

I didn't know who Eric LaGrand was until this blowup and I work in the media.

That makes you bad at your job bro. Glad you can admit it.

Who the hell watches the ESPYs? He was a college player that MOST people don't know.
He has a book coming out so this is probably good timing for him. I really hope it does help him out and gets him back walking someday.

Legrand actually apologized to Lolo for starting the whole mess. Neither of them could have imagined it would turn into a twittergate. Of course, he was just having some fun as was Lolo. Everyone else needs to remove the stick from their ass.
I agree.

Agreed. Her response to this guy's tweet was strangely hostile regardless of the guy's condition. You're not in "the hood" anymore, Lolo. Drop the thug act.
This is an outrage. No one should ever say that a guy who got hit on the head was probably hit on the head. Especially if he's a quadriplegic who says he faster than you are.
Neither of them is a real American.
Real Americans do not apologize! We are always right!

The fact that you already had a hate-on for her before this obviosly biases your response on this to the point of idiocy.
Look at it through her monitor (or smartphone, whatever):
1. She gets a tweet challenging her to race, clearly jokingly.
2. The tweet is from someone whose bio describes HIMSELF as a "Defensive Tackle for Tampa Bay Buccaneers"
She posted back, also clearly joking, implying the request was crazy and referencing his status as an athlete in a contact sport.
He humorously challenged her to a race, and she responded in kind. Any awkwardness around disability flowed from HIS decision to challenge her from a wheelchair (which was fairly clever in the irony - nice media grab by LeGrand). Only an utter moron or someone living with autism would see this as anything other than good-natured, since she clearly didn't know he was physically disabled. Of course, the only person with a real right to be offended, LEGRAND himself, is being gracious, while anonymous letsrun clowns are letting it ruin their morning wank.
Do you think Lolo Jones does a quick Google search on every 15-35 year-old dude who blows up her Twitter? that She has over 325,000 followers. Do you have any idea how many tweets and DMs she must get daily? Morons!
...Like the "hate on" you have for Rupp and Salazar (ergo your stupid assed handle here, I mean, come on, really, that is hardly clever... Time to move on...

i just wanna wrote:My question is, what if he (forgetting that fact that he is paralyzed) had challenged her to a 10k or something? A "race" could mean any distance. Yet she still responded back instantly that she is a track athlete and could take him in a race. She would've looked real dumb if that were the case. Whether quick rude wit like that is her persona or not, she needs to check what she says before she says it.
This board is hilariously stupid, and is definitely a hotbed to breed hatred for people. Yes, she didn't know who he was (I follow football daily and know about him signing his 1-day contract...but I couldn't remember his name for the life of me, why should most people?), so to think she responded that way on purpose is ridiculous.
And this post above is laughable. Who cares about the distance?? He's listed as a football player...does it matter what distance he picked? I would still bet on a conditioned sprinter running a 10k faster than a 200lb+ football player. But more importantly...It's TWITTER! Just talking smack...You think they would have actually done it??? The ONLY reason he would take her up on it, would have been to try and meet her and hook up. Amazing how people take everything they see so literally.
And for those who hate hearing about Lolo...quit reading about her! If I see a topic/person I don't want to hear about, i skip right past it and go on to the next. I know that sounds crazy, but it works. Problem solved.
Sorry, I guess the hatred/stupidity on this board made me drop to it's level for one post. I'm banning myself from the site for the rest of the day.
Dude you have so far to go before you drop to the level of this board...trust me, I know.
You're a-okay.

I fixed your sentence for you above.
Are you kidding?
Her general persona is upbeat, playful, funny and authentic. Considering the hard times she's been through in her life, she's doing pretty well.
And actually her tweet are generally funny. She has a good spirit.
You might be surprised to find that a lot of people like Lolo. She has charisma and personality, and she's cute.
She's one of the few track athletes that non track fans have heard of -- and that was before the Olympics.

Oddly, the two don't always go hand in hand.
She went to LSU.

Most people in real life are higher class than you, you might want to deeply consider that.
Bro, here's the first thing she wrote after the tweet to LeGrand.
"Great I'm gonna get murdered for that tweet. When I had no clue who that dude was.Just responding to any athlete who challenges me to a race."
That isn't an apology. You might want to deeply consider you are a moron. She did release a prepared statement a day later which was probably written by her freaking publicist. Those are so phony.
Dude, it doesn't matter. Tweets are not letters. They are conversations. She had time to tweet a few and apologize. If the supposedly offended guy understood instantly and took it in good humor...he shows a lot more class than the likes of you. You're pretty much an assclown on this site, and should leave anyway.

ESPYs = currency of societal importance?
Um, OK.
If you think most people know/care who LeGrand is, you are clearly male, less than 30 years old (chronically and/or mentally), and watch too much damn televison. I mean, seriously - ESPYs? Come on, man.

Upbeat, playful, funny and authentic??? Seems you have Lolo confused with Usain Bolt. Lolo's persona is more about defensiveness and being whiny. Now she's probably not whining all the time, just when things aren't going perfect for her. She seems a bit immature and doesn't seem able take to criticism or even a harmless joke.

Are you one of those people who still watch "SPORTSCENTER" to catch your NASCAR highlights too?
