But this whole vitriolic maligning of the USA trio has got to Stop! They are all phenomenal athletes, these women: Dawn, Kellie and Lolo. The media machine created a monster mash up and now that monster has to be put sent back into the box! Everybody take a breather.

Not really sure all the hype is about Lolo getting beaten consistently. Dawn and Kellie were consistently beating Lolo all of 2012, and there was no blip on the media's radar, no story at all. If you read the blogs and articles and videos all over the web, the consensus is that Dawn and Kellie's awkward handling of the interview with Michelle Beadle started the whole mess; her boyfriend tweeting unsavory things just compounded that and started this thread. Has nothing to do with whether Lolo won or lost, more on how Dawn and Kellie responded in the media. 90% of America gets it. Mike Wilbon got it. J.A. Adande got it. Tommy Sotomayor got it. Jackie Joyner Kersee got it. It will die down in a couple weeks if Dawn and Kellie don't open their mouth with another gaffe.

WTF you talkin' about? No one in track makes more money that I do.

There are 100 black baseball players, 100 black soccer players, 200 black basketball players, 300 black football players that make more than Bolt does in Europe and the USA.

Track does not make that much money. Thats why Demps is going to the NFL. And he will make more in his first year probably than Bolt will make that year.

In all those fields you have mentioned, who earns the highest pay? I repeat those two ladies haranguing Lolo should check their skin melanin content. It is economics, and unfortunately they won't attract as a big a market as LoloAs a side note, Demps will not be paid as much as Bolt, Bolt earns upward of 20 Million USD per year and with his recent achievement he will earn more

Well it's been four days since I made the original post on this thread. I've came back to LetsRun periodically to view the dialogue and was fascinated to see how much discussion it generated, in how many directions the discussion went, how vitriolic some of the comments were, and also how encouraging some of the comments were. The original post may have seemed harsh, but I'm a firm believer that you can't really move forward until you put truths out for all to see. Some people may have negative feelings towards armchair journalists and amateur investigative reporters, but the world as a whole is better for it as it allows us to confront more truths and heal more wounds in real-time.

I'm glad to see all three of the women hurdlers in this drama have recently made their best efforts to move forward in a positive manner. Lolo has done some great interviews with ESPN, Fox, and CNN, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and overcoming obstacles, and highlighting her Hurdles of Hope program aimed at families with incarcerated loved ones; Kellie has represented herself well on the IAAF circuit and continued being her bubbly self; and Dawn gave a positive interview on ESPN 101 radio where she spoke of how competitive American athletes were in the Olympics and how proud she was to be a part of it, she encouraged women athletes to ensure they have a good support system, stressed the importance of knowing your goals and living with no regrets, and highlighted her work with the American Diabetes Association with a stress on eating right, staying fit, and making small changes to be healthier.

This is the positive message all of us "sports fans" want to see from our American athletes. I'm glad to see the drama subside, and hope that Lolo, Kellie, and Dawn continue to represent themselves and their countries in the best way possible. Keep up the good work.

Dawn Harper seems to no longer be married to Craig Everhart. She and Alonzo make reference to being one another's partner (with photos that evidence such). Craig Everhart tweeted that he was "legally a free man" in the spring.

I think Alonzo's behavior was out of line and without question, a contradiction of what Dawn Harper's camp is pushing for.

Here's the real question, why are you following Alonso on twitter? Who cares what he has to say.
