Assuming it really does go as a fast race I'll say Rupp comes in at about 3:33.7 for 3rd or 4th place.

That guy can't run 3:33. What in the world are you thinking? I will say 3:35 & 12:53. Got lucky to be in the weakest Olympic 10000m since 88. The 5000 was a different story. His training partner is the real deal

He's already run 3:34, what in the world are you thinking that he can't run .76 fast to get 3:33?
Said Aouita also ran 3:29 without specializing. He did it in '85 about two weeks before breaking the wr at 5000m at 13:00.40. Although Aouita had more wheels than Rupp's and less endurance. He was a 1:43.86 800m guy and 27:25 10k guy (although he did only race it once and didn't specialize at it either).
IT has to be said. wrote:

Wrong. Komen ran 3:29 and he wasn't a 1500m specialist. Granted, he was a freak of nature.
Should be a fast race. Chepseba, Kiplagat, and Willis are in the field plus Centro and Manzano. I could see Rupp getting pulled along to a 3:32 high with competition like this.
