The only reason its not based on time is because everyone believes they have this Cinderalla athlete that's going to throw down hard in their respective event, most cases the heat system prevents this, unless of course you have a crazy seeding system that allows a heat of 1:48 guys advance to the final.
How upsetting it would be if a runner from heat 2 blazed his way to victory this year.

This is LetsRun, where all the poster clowns know how to do is criticize anyone who hasn't brought home an Olympic Gold Medal (and setting a world record in route)!
With Mudd's high school credentials he should no doubt have made the final, and won it for that matter, and be in contention for a spot on the Olympic Team.
Anything less is simply a complete and utter failure, at least by the Let's pretend we were Runners crowd!

It's PREDICTION TIME
1. Charles Jock - Will lead from the gun and there's no Robby Andrews to get him at the line this year.
2. Ryan Martin - Will probably just follow Jock like he did at their conference meet.
3. Elijah Greer - Dude ran 1:45 flat last year. Came on big in the finals. He'll do it again but will have to settle for another third place.
4. Erik Sowinski - Don't know much about him, but seemed to have a good kick in the prelims. If he can replicate it in the finals he'll be up there.
5. Edward Kemboi - Kenyan power.
6. Samuel Ellison - Kicking it in the back.
7. Ricky West - Same as above.
8. Aaron Evans - Doubt he can handle the Jock pace.

Evans gets 3rd at worst. Just like in 2010 when Andrews barely caught him on the line. He's been cilling this year because he's focused on the Olympics, but don't be fooled by his (relatively) slow PB.
I like this list. Also didnt't realize Ellison was only a soph. I just looked him up on TFRRS and seems like he was a 400 guy for most of last year and this year he moved up in distance to the 800. Villanova could have crazy relays next year with Mcentee, Ellison and if that Jordy Williams kid (3:36 1500 at swarthmore) comes. Not to mention fitzsimmons apparently went 1:48.9 this year.
