What did you do with your life between the ages 22 and 30?

Finished (dead end) undergrad degree.

Started Masters program.

Finished Masters program.

Accepted (low class mid-major) DI college coaching gig mainly to have access to free classes.

Coaching took up too much time to pursue academics.

Athletes kick ass which leads to better coaching job.

Its funny to read all of these.. They are all along the lines of got my masters, drank a lot, made a lot of money... If you were to got to a football website like this it would be.. I didn't get drafted, finished my Bachelors at 26 and now I'm the manager at Chili's.. haha so glad that runners have there heads on there shoulders and actually know what the real world has to offer.

25-27 A poor Jr High special education teacher

28 Finished PHD

29 Living in a condo in downtown ft worth and making a lot of money. Going out drinking with my friends, running just enough to not be out of shape. And planning a month long vacation. I love running but it never would of brought me the money I am making now and the happy life I live.

I concentrated on running, trying to get the lowest prs in various events until i retired at age 30 and then got more serious about a family, wife and work career. No, I don't regret it. I did work the entire time, picked up a masters degree too, (working part time, those 2 years).

21) Graduated, worked in consulting, partied

22-23) Worked, traveled, partied

24) Moved to NYC, changed careers, made good money, lived it up in the city for a year, got serious with a girl but not yet my career

25 -26) Moved to LA with girl, traveled more, picked up new hobbies, kicked some bad habits (alcohol, drugs)

27) Start getting serious about my career and life, plan out a life goals. Love west coast culture. Continue to travel.

22- worked for 8 bucks an hour, ran, partied.

23- moved to big city and got college coaching job, ended up leaving job quickly. went back to original job. broke up with bf.

24- worked for 12 bucks an hour, felt rich. coached at a new high school, ran my first marathon, serial dated, partied a lot. fun times.

25- continued to work, took running too seriously, missed out on a lot. coached and finally saw some success with my athletes. bought my own car.

26- quit the job, took remaining pre-reqs for grad program, dog sat for an insanely rich couple, stopped running because of chronic injuries, moved to NY, coached college again, hated it. met awesome boy, both thought we were "the ones", dated long distance.

27- got into grad school, quit coaching for good and no regrets about that, moved in with bf, broke up with bf 5 months later, not "the one."

28- will get a well paying job in any city I move to.

25, moved back to college town, worked at restaraunt, trained full time

27, Olympic trials, had a terrible year and DNQ, retired dissapointed with post collegiate career

28, got first real job at bank, got dog, married wife

23 - worked at a bookstore, did a lot of drugs, put on shows at my house, traveled asia and africa

24 - wrote a book and half of a novel, started working at a music venue. started dating a musician. drank heavily.

25 - promoted shows, learned the "art" of being a talent buyer and booking agent. kept dating musician - emotionally tumultuous. started record label.

26 - heart broken by musician. quit working at rock club. started waitressing. did some more drugs. quit waitressing. traveled america alone in my car. had a lot of casual sex.

i turn 27 in a couple months. might settle down in awhile. only feel a minor urge to, though, most days. grass is always greener.

22 - Dumped serious boyfriend because he wanted to get married, have 5 kids and move to Mexico (where he's from); Moved to Indianapolis for the summer for an internship with USATF; Covered Olympic Trials and partied with rock (track) stars; Finished last semester of college and graduated; Moved back home and worked part-time at a running store; Ready to find a great job and take on the real world...

23 - Stayed in Eugene for a month, looking for jobs with no luck; Met nikeman in person while there; Got a job in Boise with a sports media website and moved in with nikeman; Lost that job because the site ran out of money; Unemployed for 7 months, but had plenty of time for running.

24 - Got a part-time, low paying job; Got really sick and have huge hospital bill (no insurance); Still looking for a full-time job; Training for a marathon; Still with nikeman.

That's as far as I have come. Running and love life going well, job not so much. I turn 25 this year, so still in the quarter life struggle. Reading this thread makes me feel a little better though.

24 - first real job (prepared me for my next job)

25- engaged for a few months, realized marrying him would be a huge mistake, got a puppy

I don't mean to sound judgmental, but as the father of two young daughters, did you lack a loving father or male presence in your life? This is a serious inquiry, because, while you're very candid, you seem to be wanting for something. And why do chicks dig fledgling "rockstars?" That's just a perilous situation no matter how you slice it. I would recommend going to church. That should ground you somewhat if you're honest and open.

Why aren't you asking the guys the same thing? Most of the posts on here have been about guys drinking and screwing as many women as possible and you aren't lecturing them.
