It's time to set the record straight on PEDs.
They're all guilty. Everyone uses them, and everyone knows it. We only catch the ones that are too careless and too stupid to avoid detection.
What's your profession? Are we to assume that all investment bankers defraud their clients? I assume that you steal from your associates daily given your attitude. Would that be correct? Because you certainly don't have any values.
Here's what I think we should do. Legalize all PEDs. Banning them is just dumb. It's like banning recreational drugs; it will never work. Let everyone come out of the shadows and be open about what they are using. This will level the playing field.
Why don't we legalize theft and murder? Will there ever be a world where at least some people don't attempt to rip others off, or kill others for one reason or another? Should we withdraw all police protection and just leave every man to himself? Because while the effects of recreational drugs are largely limited to the user and their immediate friends and family (assuming they aren't stealing to fund their habit or operating vehicles during their incapacitation), using PEDs when you have agreed not to in a professional sport is in no way different to plagiarism in journalism or literature, inside trading or any other instance of violating agreed upon conditions for your own personal gain. How about at the Boston Marathon, we all get to take the subway, or I just hang around Boylston Street and when the gun goes off, I cross the line and I win the $150,000? Or if I pay off the race officials to lead the other elites off course? Why not legalize that?
