Love is so gay.
Hopefully German will be in the fast heat.

If German isn't in the fast heat, the race directors should be murdered.
Operating as I am under the assumption that German is racing: German wins. 13:11
I don't care who shows up or how injured he is/was. Dave Smith would not throw him to the wolves here without believing he can hold his own. And with his conservative approach to German predictions, if Smith thinks he can hold his own, German should be expected to kill the field.
"The story changes almost day to day with that guy."
That's because you get your "story" from letsrun message board.
Woah, Woah, WOAH
Ok, guys, I know y'all are really hard-up on the German Fernandez bandwagon. I realize this. But, did someone actually predict German Fernandez could win this race? With a 13:11 5k?
HOLY SHIT, that is the single dumbest set of predictions I have ever read. Delusional.
You guys throw out these low 13's times like they are pez flying out of a pez dispenser. Rupp running sub-13:20 was unbelievable. But, just because he runs it does not automatically mean every NCAA star with a bright future can run it. Galen has been grinding the ax hard for 4 years, nearly injury-free.
If German runs between 13:30-13:40 then it will be an incredible performance for a true freshman. He has a bright future, indeed.
Wins in 13:11?
He wont win or break 13:20
Just wanted to help you realize how stupid your prediction is:
13:11 = 4:12 per 1600
That means he would need to SPLIT 8:28 or so for the 2 mile.
Think about that.
I do not think he'll run 13:11, so I am agreeing with you.
But the McMillan calculator puts his 7:48 3k equal to 8:22 for 2M (and 3:55.6 for 1M interestingly enough) and a 13:36 5k. So, while 13:11 (and 8:28 split) may be out the realm....not by much. 13:36 equates to an 8:42 split at 3200. If he's got guys around him, which he probably will, and he's stil in good shape, which is anybody's guess, then I say he'll make a crack at low 13:30s. That's a lot of ifs, though.
oh how quickly we forget.
Brent Vaughn 13:18
how are most people forgetting him?
I feel like I am taking crazy PILLS!
PS Scotty Bauhs...not that cool
haha it is real.Gregson wrote that if anyone else is german's friend on fb they can check.
I'm not sure who is the bigger fag...Gregson for writing that or you for facebook stalking Gregson.
Yeah I guess you can say that but I was wondering if German was running this weekend and checking his wall helped me confirm that he was.
German is not as far away from Rupp as you realize. German's 8k US Champs cross race domination of two top ten NCAA athletes, 3:55 mile, and 8:47 3k (in a kickers race) indicate that he is not far off of Rupp right now. In a PERFECT race he maybe could hit 13:11. Although it is unlikely, it is not impossible.
It's that 8:47 3k that convinced me.
Ritz ran 13:27 as a true freshman. German is way ahead of that if he comes back from this injury well.
