lads dave flynn is the real deal, the next big thing he would have been top 3 on sunday if he ran the senior race. our main medal hope at the euro xc this year.

Jordan Neil seems to be goin well so he should challenge if he returns for the nationals, will need 6 strong athletes to compete well at euro's, they won't all run well on the day.

Seriously though, Ward is a guy that could actually go far because he's got that blistering kick that really matters at the top level. Anyone know what he's doing this year?

All these lads are distinctly average runners. cross country is for muckers like these lads. Examples flynn and mulhare, both can't break 15 min for 5k but are talked of as if they are good runners. Its a joke. Murphy is head and shoulders better than these lads.

Murphys not a 1500m guy but he'd still have flynn and mulhare in a 15. and he's 20sec faster than flynn over 3k.
dave flynn is the kevin kilbane of irish athletics, he works hard and gets a consistently average job done.
9.15 3 k steeple is a Decent Time Best in the Country in Junior and England too .
Mulhare Finished 4th in the Junior race ahead of Flynn but was omitted from results
looking back at old irish runners i see that junior athletes william harty did a 5 miler in 23.45 in 2001, and fagan in 24.14.
dave flynn,mulhare or murphy would not get near those times, maybe murphy would hit 24.35 but that would still be a long way off what harty could do, and harty was a complete burnout, did nothing the moment he turned 20. mind u, he probably trained like a marathoner as a junior, cos he was a pudgy looking f***er, didnt have the look of a talented athlete
