Phil lundin is a heck of a guy and a heck of a coach, He will have no problem having a CC title in his first year! Ruon will win the title as well!

Carleton? Are you kidding me? I don't have Carleton in the top 5 even, much less winning.
the last time they weren't top three was in 2001. they did graduate a number of top runners but they always seem to have scores of runners waiting in the wings.
Murphy needs to get motivated, somehow, to pay his damn child support. He'll be running fast either way, but if he doesn't get off his ass with that whole situation it'll be because the cops are on his tail all the way back to north st. paul. I for one wouldn't mind seeing the bum crash and burn, right into some jail cell. If he thought Kevin Groh was a bad roomate, just wait until he meets his cellmate, Mr. Salad-tosser!
what???
If you take last year's results, throw out the seniors and re-score, Bethel wins, and Olaf is second. Not that this means anything but it is one of the few actual facts that makes this board.
good call, Ari. I love how you had them as first and now say they will take top three. Well, SJU won it the past 2 years (and I'm sure you could say they have a lot of depth too) but they sure as heck won't win it this year. My point, the past is exactly that. We are talking about 2008 and I don't think Gamble and Davis are going to do it for them.

good call yourself, vin. i was confused about which year it was.
if you recall, you said they wouldn't be in the top five. i pointed out their past performances to show you that you are wrong, not to change my prediction. and sure st. johns is deep. i'm saying that carleton is deeper. finally, please don't overlook meeks.
1. St. Olaf
2. Hamline
3. St. Johns
4. Bethel
5. St. Thomas
1. Gleason
2. Greeno
3. Gladitsch
4. Bauer
5. Ruon
6. Hunter
7. Bouwmeester
8. Gamble
9. Noack
10. Haglund
11. Lambert
12. Franta
13. Groh
14. Connell
15. Green
Who does st. thomas even have? Boummester is decent and had a good 5k race, but I can't name 3 guys who are good at 8k on there team, let alone 5-7. And st. john's as well, I just don't see either of the track powerhouses having much of anything...someone tell me Im wrong
James Ewer is coming out for Cross Country...hear he was making the transition well to longer distances this summer so far...Also P.J Theisen was able find another season of eligibility. Both Carson and Cassidy Glad are coming back out for a run at Cross Country...to raise that #1 just to piss the rest of the MIAC off...Go Tommies.
I think Gleason is gonna run away from the rest of the field like Erichson did last year, won't break his record but still Gleason will be untouchable.
He is by far the strongest runner in the field, if any of you can recall the triple he did at outdoors.
I think that they have a fairly decent team that could develop well over the year- Hunter, Lowder, Noack, Franta, Stevens. Maybe not great depth but all of those runners have really good potential. Who knows what kind of recruits they have coming in also

It was close last year. Wasn't the difference between 1st and 2nd place 14 points?

Who the heck are you? You sound like you are from Carleton the way you are talking. Especially since you use first names. Also, why do say he "overlooked meeks" by only mentioning Gamble and Davis? Those 2 will most definitely by Carleton's top 2 runners, no question. Did you even see any track results from this year? Plus, Meeks Brucker is the laziest runner in the MIAC, does not train well on his own in the off-seasons, and has never broken 16 for 5000m.

perhaps i said it because he's their top returner from last year's meet.
so i took your suggestion and looked at some track results, and i admit, they're not as deep as i thought they were. but if they get a couple solid recruits and/or someone besides the three already mentioned steps up they will certainly be in contention for the title.
and no, i stay out of northfield for the most part.

Now try rescoring with two guys who are a lock for top 7 in the conference in Ruon and Gleason. That will mix up the results quite a bit. And Ari Gold, Carleton will have to bring in at least 3 blue chip recruits if they are even thinking about contending for top 3. Their 5th returner ran a 28:10 at conference last year.
hehehe, blue chip recruits...what is this UNC basketball, USC football? The success goes to the hardest workers in the summer
Top 7 a lock? My ass.
