If by that you mean he won it in the last two laps, I would know that even though I was not there. Some runners are good because they know what they're doing and don't do stupid things to cost them the race early on. Why do you think he would have run faster if he led longer?
Or by that he means that Swanson made Sepe lead for 2600 meters and then blew by him as if it were some sort of championship race - the sort of tactics that are smart in big races but just selfish when everybody's trying to lay down fast times early in the season.

So what's on tap for races this weekend. It sounds like st thomas as well as hamline are sending some guys to ISU. Also Bethel going to stout, greeno running 5k after a solid 3k last weekend? gladitch running the mile as well as heinrichs? Anyone hear anything else?
Selfish? This is college track, no one from another team is going to break the wind for you, intentionally take the lead to 'share' the work load, and people have no issues with sitting and kicking. The only time you will get that is if there is a rabbit in the race.
Bottom line, it sounds like Swanson executed perfectly for this race to achieve his goals of a fast time and winning the race.
Ya it sounds like the HU distance guys are all running a 3K. Anyone know if STU is running a DMR?
UST probably won't race their DMR yet, they will probably do one at the later ISU meet as that seems to be the big one for DMR's. Is Gleason lacing it back up this weekend?

What's going on with Ryan Martinez and John Nowinsky. The former didn't race at all in xc and hasn't shown up in either of Carleton's track results yet, and the latter has only run 1 or 2 track meets since his freshman year.

I have to say how cool of a story and how great it was to see Gleason out there ripping it up again, pretty tough to ever feel down on yourself after what he went through...great job by Boumeester as well...could be a great battle of Erichsen, Gleason, and Boum potentially
