does puma sponsor anyone anymore?? i know they used to sponsor some pretty fast kenyans.. and have they ever sponsored american runners? I would hope they can put something together with kennedy working for them now..
Most companies are probably not going to dump athletes this year unless they just aren't racing. This will change immediately after the trials. If you are over 30 and not ranked top 5 in an event you will be dropped after the trials.
Kennedy is only attached for footwear development.

You are correct, the reps job is to sell product not handle promo stuff. All of the promo stuff is handled by the marketing people in the corpoate office.
