Is Western State Done???

Actually, D2 has a lot of mid-sized state schools, while D3 has mostly private schools. Western Washington, Grand Valley State, Saginaw Valley, Univ. of Nebraska-Kearney, Valdosta State, Humboldt State, Texas A & M-Kingsville, West Texas A & M, the entire RMAC, most of the Dakotas (who are now moving up to D-I) area all state schools and D2.

Yes, there are some private schools in D2, but it's mostly mid-sized state schools. The really elite private schools -- Williams, Willamette, Oberlin, etc. -- are D3 schools.

That said, both D2 and D3 have good competitors. Not everyone is of D-1 quality, but D2 X-C needs to improve. Two schools should not be winning it every single year.

without "GOLD STAR" Western academics would be as bad as Adams.

As a recruiter for various organizations & corporations in the Denver-metro area, Adams State has ALWAYS had a much better academic reputation than Western State. Actually, they have a better reputation than all of the small state institutions (minus Colo. School of Mines) and many of their programs rate higher than CU and CSU. Entrance standards for all of the small state schools (again, minus CSM) aren't very tough, but each school has some very solid programs.

Grand Valley State, for one, is trying to do something about the Western/Adams/Abilene dominance of D2 cross. If you look at the yearly track winners, though, D2 is much more balanced.

well....i started this post to hear predictions on Western State, so back to my original question is Western State Done?

My Answer:

I think Western and Adams will be 1 and 2 not sure which one will take the crown, I herd that Western got some pretty scary recruits, should be an interesting year. Oh yeah, and Mines will be top 5. Western is not done, they will win or get second.

Since I specifically quoted Johnny H Utah within the post that you are directly replying to, I shouldn't have to differentiate anything. The target should have been abundantly clear.

Yeah, it was done about 7-8 weeks ago. A guy named Cooper won in 18 hours and change, if I remember right. Not exactly a stellar performance.

Well, I think you have a problem. I would say that the "Supposed" Adam Rich that keeps posting this stuff isn't even the real one. I believe that the Western Team really dosen't care all that much about what he is doing, and if he is even running. Rich and the team parted, and that is that. I believe that Rich has no regrets going to Western and would not come on here posting his name on the board to start trouble. You on the other hand would much rather go arround saying you are going to do something to Mr. Rich for no apparent reason. And so what if Rich runs road races, is that some problem for you? Get a life and stop causing trouble for Rich and for the team. As for the Western team, good luck this year and do well.

From one current western runner to the others posting on here. Stop running your mouths (or rather your typing fingers) unless you intend to win Nationals by running on your lips. Let your racing do your talking as will your opposition who are, for the most part, to professional to talk crap on here. If you want to talk shit to each other do it on facebook.
