It amazes me how some people think there is a cap on human performance. Since drug allegations have been flying around for years some people question every PR. So, the question is how fast can a human go? What is the cut off for the 5000 or any distance and if anyone passes it are they on drugs? At one time very few people belived a man could break the 4 min. barrier in the mile, now hundreds have done it.When does knowledgable coaching, nutrition, dedication and hard work come into play? Who are we to say that there is a limit to human performance and why should we constantly be negative towards people who have decided to commit there life towards this sport?
she so sexy. Love her slender body. Good eyes Adam.
Deena and E. Díbaba were both billed to run in Helsinki on June 19th, but it appears that at some point the Ethiopian squad chose not to show up, and I suppose that's why Deena dropped out of the field, too, as it would've taken a solo run to break the AR.
Pity, though, there won't be another 10.000m in the calendar for quite some time, I believe.

Many married women go by the Ms. form, as opposed to Mrs.
Kudos to Goucher. She came back from a series of long-term setbacks. I interviewed her briefly after the RM Shootout in 1999 when she smoked the course. Her development profile looks pretty legit. No huge unexplained leap in improvement. Just years of hard work and a lot of talent.
Do you engage any part of your brain before spouting this nonsense? First, what kind of connection is there between Alberto supposedly using drugs, and the performance of one of his athletes? Don't people have a mind of their own?Second, Alberto had a medical problem which he sought to alleviate with LEGAL medication, and which he openly acknowledged he was using. Lets run is a great forum, but there will always be yahoos who will spout nonsese about drugs.

I have to say, that her performance in the 10k tonight definately convinces me she is on drugs whether she knows it or not. Alberto has a pretty dirty past of using all kinds of drugs legal and illegal to boost performance(prozac, thyroid medicaiton). Being a friend of some elite runners, I think there is pretty strong suspicion of her this year.

i would still say her 5k pr is suspect...so they don't really correlate. She had very little recovery time between races too. Drugs do help you recover much faster. Again, another red flag.
I tend to agree with the term were there is smoke there is often fire. Look at Deeja who was coached by Eddy H...Busted. I'm not going to throw around accusations at Kara or Haile G for who they are associated with but we need to remember that it is hard to put anyone above suspicion based on what has happend in the past.
Still waiting for the post that has Alberto cheating? Still waiting for the proof.....still waiting......still waiting....
whats the story with all Al's athletes having thyroid problems? something not right!
No proof at all. Kara was 9th at Footlocker as a high school SOPHOMORE. She beat Carrie Tollefson at state in Minnesota that year and Carrie was a year older than Kara Wheeler. You need to pul your head out of your ass and inhale some fresh air for a change. Who knows, you might even get yourself a phat PR.
How about the connection with some eminent asthma doctor in Portland, which led to the diagnosis of exercise induced asthma in a disproportianate # of his athletes (high school included)? It's peculiar to watch 4 of 7 high school athletes on the same team puffing inhalers before the race. Especially since many asthma medications are on the banned list EXCEPT if you are medically excused.

During Al's racing days he would push these meds onto other runners as well. I for one know of a realy race were he was trying to hook up another teammate. The teammate refused and AL SAL got mad. End of Story.
Considering that inhalers only work if you have a medical condition requiring an inhaler this does not make any sense. You have no credibility. Name some names.
Thank God we're pulling out the high school stats. That was like 10 years ago.

It just demonstrates Kara had the talent to do this well all along without enhancements.
kara and adam on something
so adam wasn't on something under wetmore when he ran 13:11... and then had years of injuries... and then finally achieved consistent training and PRs by 1 second.. wow, yeah thats proof he is on something

correct. they're on the roads and the track training their asses off. good on 'em for the husband/wife comback story of the decade
What's helped Goucher(s) recover better and avoid injury? PEDs can't accellerate recovery?
