Shuj, why don't you email the IAAF and tell them they're wrong?

agreed, where willis beat el g it was very important. if they had appointed the appropriate time Willis would have had John Waklers NZ record in that race a year ago....yet the IAAF clearly let the mistake rest instead of correcting thier error. if you see the photo finish willis is clearly ahead of guerrouj.

I'm sure IAAF checks here all the time, so now they know.
Skuj wrote:
The letsrun front page also declares that it cannot be. So there you have it. IAAF will update soon.
Skuj, I put my faith in the meet officials who actually must look at the finish photos in order to publish the result, over a bunch of hyperventilating adolescents on an internet message board.
Well I'm really confused about all this. I really WANTED to believe. Is this all the work of trolls? Even wejo is convinced.....

My other post was deleted from the site. You heard it here first....Cragg was a DNF at 4k. This is straight from the horses mouth.
Sounds like the results are/were wrong.
Here is what happened: Jeremy wariner always jogs 2 1/2 miles very slow after a 400 race (*shhh, it's part of his secret plan to move up to the 800*), and he accidently crossed in front of the camera at the finish of the 5000. Skinny white dude in an orange adidas singlet, it's got to be Cragg!
did the iaaf remove Cragg nr comments from their Paris report? yes or no?
If yes, why?
cragg dropped out at the bell with severe headache.
maybe he walked across the finishing laser as the others were finishing?????
Skuj, and others,
In response to someone asking me how the hell I could have been there and not noticed if a tall skinny white guy passed the line, well, that's a fair question, and the answer is that it was a carnival, there were other events going on at the same time, I was trying to get video of Bekele, and the 74,999 other people also there provided something of a distraction as well.
That being said, I looked back at a video I took toward the end of the race and Cragg is not in it. He is nowhere near the front at the end of the race. At least my camera pays more attention to detail than I do.
Cragg has been removed from the IAAF report but not the results.
Ah well. Cragg will run sub-13 one day for sure and I stil tip to medal at the European Champs
Wow, the IAAF is about as reliable as the U.N.
NO NO NO NO!!
I believe it was kiprop and not gamouri.. that were confused for cragg.
when you look at the tape tariku finishes 4th and then 2 africans finish. then gaoumori finishes in 8th
The photo finish at Golden Leagues is done by an independent timing company. They are not from the IAAF. In fact they don't actually know anything about athletics. They just know how to read a photofinish picture. It's not such a big deal. It was a mixup. Probably some people lost their number or went over the line together.

Apparently they don't know how to read a photofinish picture.
so it's still only 3 white guys under 13 for 5k?
how many total?
I'll guess 100 (all africans and some asians, maybe)

Well, if Cragg's time was indeed a mistake, which it seems to be at this point, then yes, you are right about the "3 white guys" under 13:00(or said another more accurate way: 3 "non-Africans"). All the rest are East or North African descent.
But no, not 100 runners under 13:00 yet. "Only" 56 (excluding Cragg).
And "some asians" under 13:00??? No way, not even close. The Asians are waaaay off the 13:00 barrier.

Wait, I should clarify that by saying: I am talking about where an athlete's genetic heritage is from, not where they moved to recently. Because some Africans have moved to Asia and run for Asian countries. I was of course talking about "ethnic" Asians, such as Japanese, Chinese, Koreans, etc. None of them have approached 13:00
