Early reports out of Naperville have Boumeester running 3:50.xx in the 1500, Erichsen ran 3:51.xx, Campbell of Hamline running 3:56.xx and Gleason running 4:04.
Amazing run by Matt, and tough way to end the season for Gleason.
Do you mean Atzinger maybe of UST? Boumeester ran at UW-LaX. Erichsen running a 3:51 is a huge PR for him, but then again I'm never surprised at what he runs anymore.
Sampson 30:58 at LaX. no nats for him but a solid PR considering not much competition.
I believe Matt was going to run both meets IF he did not get a time at La Crosse.
K, then they obviously got the winner of the men 1500m wrong at UW-LaX then, because one "Matt Boumeester" ran 3:53.69 there.
If Matt did take down Erichsen then quite an accomplishment. Erichsen is very good and so is Gleason. Beating Erichsen head to head when he (Erichsen) runs a PR and after having raced last night in LaX- WOW.

Is that Swanson's 4th 10,000m race this season? If he had made nationals it would've been a 5th!
Innocent Bystander, Matt DID run 3:53 at LAX which is not fast enough to get into nationals. Therefore, he went to North Central and go the job done with his 3:50. Why is that so hard to understand. A two second and three second PR over two consecutive days... gotta like how that looks for prelims/finals next weekend!
If Erichsen runs fast one day and the next goes even faster it is not a surprise to anyone. Give Boumeester some credit. If anyone who has a brain watched Boumeester run his leg in the 4x800 last week and the 5k the next day would know that he can one, run fast at 1500 and two, has the strength to come back the following day. St. Thomas also has a history over the last thirteen years of having strength based 1500 guys coached by Pete Wareham. Don't be surprised morons.
Ok, I finally have all of that stuff figured out. Nice job by Boumeester then. It was still fun to watch Erichsen toy with him in the 5000 at conference though, but it looks like Boumeester has Erichsen by a couple seconds in the 1500.
im going to guess Pete threatened him with his fist to run both days..
also lets hope for his sake that MIAC weekend and these past 2 days dont take too much of a toll on him for next week

Yeah I am sure Wareham did threaten Boumeester because really who would want to get in a national meet. I am sure Boumeester had to be convinced to run considering he would not have gotten in with the previous days time. Oh and I suppose Josh Kath not running in the '99 national outdoor meet was because Wareham threatened him not to run?
My math says, before you start throwing comments such as your opening sentence, use you below average round thing three feet above your ass.
Just curious, I have heard before that Kath did not run the National meet, but I have not heard why he did not run. Any ligit answers?
Yep...I know I spell legit wrong.

I had heard from someone who went to UST that Kath chose not to run the national meet and graduation was possibly the same weekend.
It looks like the innocent bystander shows how shallow he is, or he is Erichsen's secret lover. I can't figure the fairness in the comment that Erichsen "toyed" with Boumeester but yet Boumeester "has Erichsen by a couple of seconds" in the 1500M. A "couple of seconds" in 1500M is pretty significant. Boumeester had to race against a very strong field, not just Erichsen and as it played out, Erichsen proved not to be a factor that Boumeester needed to worry about.
Ari Gold... you are still a douche, but I second your sentiments about Gladitsch. Go Carl!
Josh Kath decided to attend graduation instead of race at nationals. He addressed Coach Pete about the scheduling conflict between nats and graduation. It was rumored that (I was not a part of the conversation or in the room) Pete became angry and threatened not to award Josh with his varisty letter. Josh said, "Okay..." and took a hike. Kath attended graduation.
As far as Josh goes, he was a great competitor and nice guy. As a young hs kid, I remember watching him at state when he was a member of those strong White Bear Lake teams. As a collegian, he was tough. I recall MIAC at SJU vs. Bresnan from St.O. (Mark was a soph? I believe). Now Mark was a tough as nails guy, but with 100m to go in the 4x800, Kath just effortlessly cruised by the kid. Kath made him look slow. Kath was strong...800m-10k!
