so i hate to give compliments, but i must admit i was impressed with erichsen's performances this past weekend. i thought kennedy had a chance at him in the steeple for a split second until erichsen decided to start racing with 200 left. it seemed like he wasn't even trying until that point in the race.
it would have been nice if he waited until 150-200 left in the 5k to really start sprinting because it would have made the race a little more exciting. he even had the confidence to slow the pace with about a few laps left to let kelly catch up to boumeester.
hypothetically, does anyone think he could have won the 1500 too? i actually didn't expect him to win the three races he entered, but after watching his domination of the fields in each race (aside from fermoyle in the 10k), i think he may have been able to win the 1500 too. anyone else?
i would imagine gleason is pretty tired. it's been a long season. i know that i'd much rather run a 1500 than a 5k any day (especially on a track) but that's just me. so it doesn't surprise me that he'll try to go in the 1500. with about 200 to it looked like ust was going to go 1-2 and gleason was going to fade to fourth or worse, but somehow he summoned that incredible kick. this was easily the best race of the day.
