Is Micheal Bernstine still running? I predict him to win the title this year.
Ol' Burnie hasn't been eligible in a couple years. I did hear a rumor, though, that he's trying to forge some documents and return to fame and glory at a NESCAC school. He really misses the NESCAC...and understandably so!
I predict Derek David Stillin Rubis wins the regionals, nationals, and then face-in-a-hole's the entire field, therefor winning the team race as well with a perfect 15.
Bump. Regional results anyone? Midwest women should be done.
Hopkins wins Mideast regional pretty soundly over Dickinson (2nd) and Haverford (3rd).
Bobby Over beats Stadler by a second or two for the individual victory.
SUNY Cortland (37) over NYU (62) in the Atlantic regional. Cortland is perhaps a podium contender at this point?

North Central appears to have won the Midwest Region:
How many individuals qualify out of each region?
St. Olaf 51 pts to Central's 61. Unfortunately it seems Olaf peaked at Jim Drews when they had that 35 second spread. Lehn is back but running #5 at 25:38 to Wintheiser's 24:39, compared to Drews when he was just 27 seconds behind. Still, they might have a chance for 3rd if they can rally.

The St. Olaf course is 80 meters longer than 8k. Last 1600 times were around 16-18 seconds off the pace the majority of runners hit at the four-mile. The Oles will still be in it for the win.
Central is finally coming on with Horton and Jackson running where they should be.
Wintheiser, Horton, Brown and O'Brien will be in the mix individually.
The Olaf course is not 80 meters long. It has been wheeled multiple times at 7990-8010 meters.
Oooooookaaaaayyyy, if you say so!
So how many teams from each region...
MW did not impress me with their results. Can't say they really deserve more than 5.

Nah, I would give them 4 AT MOST. Up top they are strong, but just don't really have the depth this year.

It's pretty close to being on. It's just that the 4 mile split was short. I went through the 3 mile in 15:00 and the 4 mile clock said 19:50... I was slowing down a bit at that point...

The thing is, who does? None of the regions are very deep.
I heard from the Augustana head coach at the meet today that the times may appear a bit slow because they messed up on the course and measured it out to be a full five mile instead of an 8k on accident. Add that to the 25-30 mph winds at the race and it was rather impressive how well everyone ran. Should be worth 20-25 seconds (10 for the 5 mile to 8k conversion and another 10-15 for the win) taken off of everyones times.
Isn't the Augie course notoriously fast/short, though?
Midwest regionals? wrote:

I heard from the big man upstairs that the times were fast because he was making sure that the 25-30 mph wind was behind the runners the entire time. Course was 8k, wind wasn't a big factor, all the teams behind uw-lax didn't look too great, midwest deserves 5 bids at most.
