This article certainly seems to indicate that Chiara Dailey decided against NXN, which was the way she said she was leaning after her race today. Not sure if this list is official though.

My understanding the athletes have to declare if they're going to NxN right away because of the travel accommodations and everything else that goes with making NxN a great experience for the athletes.

It also has the number 126 next to Buchanan, which seems to imply that they scored 126 points in the power merge, which would mean an 18 team power merge. The power merge has been changed through the years, not sure why, but it's been 22, 20 and the last few years it's been 16.
In his post he did say if he didn't make a calculation error.

I doubt that the article is wrong because it's from the official NXN website. Whether JSerra finished 3rd or 4th depends on the number of teams in the power merge. My original assumption was that there are 16 teams, but that would mean JSerra finishes 4th, contradicting the article. If my interpretation of "Clovis XC 126" in the article to mean that Buchanan scored 126 points in the power merge is correct, there must be 18 teams in the power merge, which would mean JSerra is 3rd.

Trabuco (girls) were never ranked and finished 4th?! Not even ranked regionally. This is crazy!! There are 3rd place teams in other regions that are ranked top 30. Talk about a bad selection process.

It's not NxN that does the power merge. It's California.

Possibly, but not likely. D1 is next and that’s where Buchanan, Santiago, and Mira Costa are at. Unless 1 or 2 of the D1 teams wet the bed tdy then they probably won’t qualify but who knows.
Before the merge on raw times, Buchanan, MiCo, TH, JSerra, AW. My Dark Horse El Toro will have to wait until next year. They're state champions and can hold their heads high.
I just read El Toro set new D3 team record. And they're all coming back and they more talent hungry to crack that top 7. Not including super freshman that may come in or a transfer
What’s nuts is that Melanie True was ahead of Aelo Curtis a year ago.
And we never saw her compete in XC again. Had she competed at full fitness, Ventura would have been a high podium contender. (Anyone know what happened?)
What happened is Aelo started working with Summer’s coach a year ago. He’s an amazing coach who has probably the best track record out there. He’s taken a bunch of 5:40-6:00 min milers and gotten them sub 5. Look at the progression of the Lieberman sisters. Both sub 4:45 from 5:30s.
Hopefully she doesn’t get hurt at Brooks nationals this time
Chiara Dailey didn't get hurt. She was sick. And she got sick 8 or 9 days before. It had nothing at all to do with Brooks. Sometimes people get sick. That's life.
