[Incidentally, homicides in NYC were 438 in 2022, 391 in 2023, and an estimated 375 (official final figures not yet available) in 2024. And the trend continues in 2025: From January to May, New York City had the lowest number of homicides in recorded history for that period. It would appear that New York's justice system is doing something right.]
