We had a family visit in another state with relatives we don't see that much... I was pleased to learn that a couple of my right wing family members seem to have turned the corner away from Trump. It will be interesting to see where these people vote. I can't see them voting for Biden of course but they are totally done with Trump. They won't do that again.
It's a shame we don't have normal elections and get rid of primaries. Have elections where people could actually chose the candidate they want and not be forced into a party driven nominee.

I think we can all agree that gone is the idea of American Exceptionalism. The belief that US citizens once had that these crazy moves from democracy to strong-man authoritarian forms of government could never, ever happen here.

It has been said before but is worth repeating. Democracy takes hard work from it's citizenry to keep going. It is not a system that keeps humming along autonomously. Authoritarians have learned that if they can get the citizenry to think elections are rigged, BS and the institutions that run them are corrupt, the slide to Authoritarianism is a very easy one.

I would really have to question how that Poll was administered. How were those questions worded. I say this because even our die hard Trumper are getting to the point where they are admitting that Trump is a blatant liar. They do the whataboutisms to keep supporting. But nobody today is pretending Trump is an honest guy. (as far as I can see)

Wrong. If people are breaking the laws, arrest them. Regardless of color. If there is evidence of Joe Biden breaking the law, then indict him to the full extent of the law. See how easy that was?
But you need to caution yourself from claiming a tiny amount of 68 arrests in the most populous city in the US with a heavily minority population somehow disproves that right wing media is causing hate crimes. Are you claiming that minorities are somehow immune from hate rhetoric? Or that all the minorities in New York can't be right wing? Interesting assertion.
