Remember now that Kosgei also has crazy leg speed - he qualified for the 800 last year in outdoor running 1:52.3 and remember his steeple performance so hes tough and fast like Sigl. It'll be interesting to watch these two dual it out especially since Kosgei hasn't really hammered a race from start to finish but rather sitting back and out distancing his opponents over the last 800 meters - won't be so easy this upcoming weekend but this guy keeps surprising everyone with his talent.

Anyone know so good bars near Olaf?? I plan on going out Friday night once i get into town.

The big one is the Reub'n Stein. They have cheap pitchers, pool tables, and karaoke.

The Contented Cow is a nice Brit Pub. Good for a pint and some conversation. My personal favorite.

Froggy Bottoms is a bit bigger than the Cow but I don't like it as much.

The Tavern also has a pretty chill bar.

These are the 4 in town. All of them except for Froggy Bottoms are on Division Street--the main drag in town, about 1.5 miles from Olaf, close to Carleton.

Don't go to the Tavern. That is where I will be going and I don't want it packed. (They have the best food.) If you do go anyway be sure to try their Tavern Fries with your meal, as well as the current Sam Adams Winter Lager on tap.

its funny, you can tell who is from out east, and who hasn't seen sigl raced, and also who has not seen kosegie raced. It should be interesting, but i think that all you people who think that kosegie has been sitting back for every race until the end is going to finally throw down, i think you are overestimating his speed. Because no one has seen his kick at the end of a race that was during a race where the entire race was actually a fast pace.However with guys like sigl we have. He went out in 4:40 at regions and still kicked it like no other. I think he will make his move with a mile to go and no one will hang. It will be a race for second. Watch butzler and kosegie as they fight each other for 2nd. Those of you who think kosegie has been training smart by not racing the first 6k in every race i think will be surprised when you see his lack of strength speed at the end.

I have not seen Kosgei race all year, and have only watched him run once before (steeple-nats) so i can not say this is going to be unbiased. I have watched Sigl race for the last four years now and i believe experience in competition is one thing that is very under-appreciated in collegiate cross country. I think Sigl has experienced every type of racing environment the past couple years at cross nationals. He is ready for anything as is as fit as anyone.

You are right!! Sigl went out in a 4:40 mile on a flat course that is everyone in the xc world knows is short. While I feel that Sigl is the favorite, do not over estimate his speed!

Have you actually seen Kosgei race this season? It isn't like he sprints off at full clip, he just leaves. His moves aren't quick bursts, just a slight increase in effort, and all of the sudden a gap forms.

Also, he hasn't been challenged in a race yet? Hany Abdallah went straight for him, still ran 24:29, and Kosgei put almost 20 seconds on him in the last half mile. Same deal at Williams, Holtschulte pushed him the whole way, and Kosgei took him apart.

Kosgei can hang with a 4:40 first mile. Kosgei could probably hang with a 4:25 first mile if he had to. Sigl is going to run his own legs off trying to drop Kosgei. Peter will run the same race he has all season, and he'll probably finish in the same position he has all season.

Kosgei has won 9 of 9 races this year. Shamus Nally, Hany Abdallah, Neal Holtschulte...he's run against some incredible competition and always comes away with a victory. I think Sigl will put up a great fight, but I would never bet against Kosgei.

It's not short, and even if it were, you don't know that it was short in the first mile...I don't think the midwest would create a short course, especially for the region meet, i'm sure it was measured over and over again.

I'am just loving all of this debating about who is going to win nationals. We should create a poll somewhere and see who has the most votes, it would be fun to see. We can't forget about erichson either he has shown some pretty impressive times.

i think people are under estimating wiszowaty. She was injured and is on the comeback trail. Expect to see her in the top
