pretty solid? a 14:48 as a freshman is what most blue chip DI recruits run their freshman year. Ruon did not even run cross! He should be a contender for a national title at some point in the future if he continues to improve like this.

It was a really impressive run by Ruon yesterday. I have never seen another MIAC runner who can fight through pain and yet keep pace as well as he does. He looked like he was hurting something awful for the last three laps but still managed to hold on.
Hamline Meet of the Unsaintly
St. Thomas Invitational
Any results yet?
It's after six, where are the entries?
hmmm lots of surprises there. should be an interesting meet as always. the top end of the 1500 lost some power in all the mind games.
Predictions?
what are you talking about mind games, im confused, what power?
Erichsen in the 5, 10 and steeple...wow.
I'm not terribly surprised. He could tempo the 10K and get top 4 fairly easily, if he works a little bit him and Fermoyle can go 1/2. In the steeple he's the fastest guy by far and will be able to run like 2 hard laps and coast. He'll have to work in the 5K (unless the field is dumb), but should still be able to win that. And since he already has autoed in the steeple and 5K he doesn't need to race between MIACs and NCAAs.
No Boumeester in the 1500? That was pretty surprising. I would think he would score a lot more points in the 1500 vs. the 5000.
Also, I was surprised that Ewer wasn't entered in the open 400. I'm assuming that was because St. Thomas wanted to avoid overdoing it, but I'm not sure.
I wouldn't sleep on the quality of the 10k field, it could end up being a lot more competitive than some are thinking.
you might want to take it out of your mouth and breath. and your infatuation with erichsen isn't evident.

Honest effort rule? Are you serious? How in the world could Erichsen be disqualified from his other events if he runs the 10K solely for a top 4 placing and does not run for the win? Are you suggesting everyone that does not go out in the lead pack of a distance race be disqualified from their other events since they are "not running to win"?
Ya i missed Family Guy tonite? anybody know if peter found his pants???

not necessarily. see last year's results. it's hard to coast in the steeple, especially with 10k of wear on your legs from the day before.
i think erichsen will only run the 5k if his team needs the points to win the meet. otherwise, i bet he'll settle for the 10k and steeple. i know that he is THE chris erichsen, but everybody gets tired after that much running, and i doubt he wants to kill himself before nationals.

Yeah, there was an upset in the steeple last year, but may I point out that erichsen is in a different league than bristow was last year. plus, zupan had a wicked kick. at his peak erichsen doesn't have to worry about getting outkicked by anyone in the MIAC... I believe he split sub 2 for the last 800 of the 1500 last year.
I bet Erichsen runs for 2nd in the 10k and wins the Steeple and 5k (if the 5k is necessary)
